I’d say 50/50 at best. And it’s only that high because he supposedly indicated he’s coming.
Where is this coming from?
To the best of my knowledge there have been no credible, published reports that Gilbert is in any way wavering since his commitment, which itself was long-predicted and not a surprise. It’s just Gator recruiting pessimism.
Obviously you have the academic and eligibility sides, which may or may not prove to be troublesome. But right now there doesn’t seem to be any reason to doubt the legitimacy of Gilbert’s commitment.
right. Hell be a Gator as far as being enrolled when May rolls around by all accounts but the hurdle of the SEC allowing immediate eligibility of an inner conference transfer from a non bowl sanctioned school could be an issue. I know the immediate waiver is set to pass in April buuuut that still has some hurdles in it that i dont think Gilbert cleared or has cleared or may not be able to clear in time for the 2021 season
LSU has a lot of investigations going on. Hopefully the Title 9 investigations, Les Miles issues, and booster payment issues help provide for immediate eligibility
He's coming. I don't get why people are questioning the kid.
Academics may be an issue, but he can hopefully get that worked out over the summer terms.
Unless I'm wrong, a blanket waiver by the NCAA in April would also cover the need for an SEC waiver so long as the NCAA doesn't put a Mickey Mouse must be enrolled by date in the blanket waiver. Eleven games into the softball season and Wallace is still not playing SS for the Florida softball team. The two players filling in are all defense and no stick.
At this point, I'm more concerned about what Gilbert did or did not do at LSU last fall and if he can get anything that is short of academic eligibility straightened out in time to play in 21.
So either those rumors of his grades being totally awful are true, or the check cleared from Kirby.
I'm betting on grades or lack thereof. In any case, Mullen and staff can't talk about it and apparently Gilbert isn't going to talk about it. Time will tell. (shaking head)
It could be he has already been advised that an SEC waiver wouldn't be forthcoming. In that case, he may be looking at Miami again or anywhere outside of the SEC.
Bottom line, I suspect that he would be at UF if he could be at UF.
On the bright side, we have another slot open for the transfer portal.
He was never qualifying academically. It's out of Mullen's hands.
This has kirby $mart written all over it.
Man, it usually takes longer for reality to make me look like an ass.
Would lsu tamper with his grades to prevent him from going to a big rival they play every year? Wouldn’t put it past them.
nah doubt that. Remember same thing happened with Kelvin Joseph
There is a report this afternoon that he has decommitted from UF.
Too bad for the kid, needs to buckle down in the classroom
