Because she's CONSTANTLY giving interviews, appearing on late night shows and getting press. She's getting attention because she's putting herself out there as if she WAS the leader of the party.

Well, she is funny as hell, so why not make a few bucks off her liberal lunacy? Heck, I get a laugh out of much of what she says. For that matter, I find most of what is said by liberals to be quite funny. That’s a big reason I read THFSG, it’s really pretty funny stuff coming from so many people!!

Do you imagine she's calling up Seth Meyers or GMA and demanding TV time that they are reluctantly granting her? People recognize stars (particularly in show business), that's why the Republicans cant stop talking about her either. They recognize her political talent.

She’s good at marketing herself. That’s doesn’t mean she has political talent.

Well then I am definitely not sure she is the Face of the party as she shouldn’t be able to unilaterally make that decision.

So, your saying the US could help reduce global warming by a degree if they cared too? If that math were correct, which I am not saying it is or isn't, how many degrees could China and India reduce combined if they were looking to make a difference?

They are definitely doing more than us at the moment, the least we could do is catch up to them.

One problem. Electricity produced by wind and solar can not be stored.

Yes, it can. It is currently not cheap to do so, although the cost is falling rapidly. Diversification also limits how much of it needs to be stored.

Simply not true, though as md notes, diversification must be implemented to minimize any storage needs. Pumped hydro, compressed gas, batteries, rail cars, etc. are all proven methods for energy storage.

There is this great new technology they came out with to store electrical energy, it's called the battery. ;)

Now presumably you just mean that the energy cannot be stored efficiently and cost effectively, and that is probably still true to an extent. But costs for storage are coming down rapidly to the point where it's already "feasible", although perhaps not affordable to be common.

Tesla is offering a product for $13K that they claim provides 7 days of backup power. With each generation of similar technology, we should see improved price/performance.

Batteries are the weak point of solar or wind energy.
Wind and solar energy us fairly clean until you get to the batteries. Batteries really are not green or clean storage units right now.
On top of that batteries are not very efficient, at least not at the rate one woumd hope for or expect in an emerging technology.

That is what makes the technology "emerging" versus being completed. We are still in the phase where the price is dropping rapidly due to R&D advancements.

    Did I argue otherwise?
Solar panels are not exactly green or clean to make either. But until a true viable storage system.is developed wind and solar are second rate utilities.
