Try and rationalize as you wish. The fact is this is just another example of further debasement of society. I'm not sure on what level anyone can think doing something like this would actually be a good idea.

I don’t think thats how the term “snowflake” is used at all.

Nothing wrong with being blunt and also having class.

    Spot on comment.

Yeah, I think it was thuggish, because you don't have to literally physically attack someone to be a thug imo. Behavior also counts. I get it that we fans might not respect other teams or their players, but the players are another question. It's unacceptable. If I was the 'Ole Miss coach (and thank Goodness I'm not), Moore would be suspended from the spring game and for the first three games of the 2020 season, at least.

Considering all the crap that has gone on at that program the past several years and their players are still behaving in that manner too? It's a culture problem. Their coach needs to get a firm grip of control over it or totally lose any control he already has.

Agree. It's part of the fun of the game. And like it or not, the celebration was funny - and MSU's mascot is a BULLDOG.

Agree in principle, but there is a line that you just can't cross. The question is, where is your line? Can we have a guy score and then drop his drawers and shake his package at the opposing fans? We may disagree on where that line is, but MY line was crossed with that vulgar display of stupidity. Personally, I've never seen justice better served on a football field than when that kick was missed.

Did anyone doubt as soon as he committed that penalty that the PAT would be missed?
I told my wife as they were marching it off the kicker would miss.
Instant justice, and as I stated in the original post, he should take the Greyhound home

A thug is, by definition, a violent criminal. The term has roots in Hindi.
More recently, it referred to henchmen who operated for the mafia.

Here's a definition with some perspective.
This was not a thuggish act by any applicable definition. It was immature and the result of peak emotion. The Ole Miss player was assessed a 15yd penalty. Beyond that, though, he has and will continue to suffer a great deal of mental anguish. That, imo, is more than enough punishment.

I don’t think thug insinuates criminal violence - just a different opinion.

For a lot of people, thug is a replacement word.

For the rest of us, I do think thug has a criminal connotation.

I think an ole piss receiver did it against MSU a couple of years ago and of course was also penalized, but it did not cost like this years did.

The legal definition, and historical origin of the word, is correctly cited above. "Thug" implies all kinds of violence. Since when did an incorrect opinion about the meaning of a word change the actual meaning of it.

Didn't you hear? We live in a world of alternative facts. People are apparently not only entitled to their own opinions now, they are also entitled to their own set of facts and their own definitions for words.
