Watching Golf Channel today (Saturday) and Tiger Woods is currently 8 under on his round today at TPC Sawgrass after 12 holes and -9 for the tournament. 2 more birdies and he will set the course record. Does anyone know if there is any live coverage of his round? What a shame if not! Looks like NBC coverage starts at 2pm, long after Tiger’s possible historic round will be in the books.

No wind and soft greens, this course is tame and a shell of itself. Looking forward to the tourney moving back to March starting next year. It will be a much better challenge then, the way it should be. Let the winds blow!

Spieth also having a big day.
Since Bubba Watson moved to P'Cola I've been rooting for him.

NBC just picked up live on Golf Channel with Tiger hitting 2nd shot on 16. Tiger not finishing strong since birdie at 12.

Second place is not out of the picture for Tiger but he is 11 strokes out of first. He's only 4 out of second and paired with Speith today. There will be huge crowds following that pairing.

With Webb playing out of his mind this week, every one left is playing for 2nd, unless he has a epic meltdown. Apparently, no one has ever blown a 7 shot lead after 54 holes on the PGA.

But for Tiger and Spieth, yesterday will give them a lot of mo heading into the US open in a few weeks. Honestly, many golf geeks I know, including myself, never thought Woods would be able to compete at this level again. The game is as strong as ever right now, with the young guns and the older guys like Phil and Tiger still very competitive. Going to be a fun season.

The people happiest that Tiger is competitive again are his fellow golfers. Prize money took a hit when he stepped away. Now the money is flowing again.

2013 purse at the Players when Tiger last won was 9.5 million.
    2015 when Rickie F. won 10 million
    2018 10.5 million.
That's a steady climb since Tiger was out, but can't vouch for other tourney's purses...

He was en fuego. Shot a THIRTY on the back (?). I agree, Webb might be a little far off in the distance, but runner up should be fun. Unless he pulls a Shark or a Van deVeldt (sp?), then all bets are off.
