We had to have this for a respectable OL class. I realize it was a long shot but now so is our chances to compete with the best in the trenches going forward.
Coach has to make a change or bring in a second OL coach to show some improvement up front. The current OL coach isn't getting enough out of the players and he sure isn't bringing in the OL guys who can come in and start day 1. I believe we have some potential on the roster and with the guys in the current class but we need a whole lot more in the development of these guys. I do hope Coach makes some moves. I can't imagine he was happy with the running back production this year. 4.5 yards per carry and 6 Tds (1,087 yards rushing from RBs only). [Down from 4.85 yards per carry, 1,139 rushing yards, and 11 Rushing TDs by RBs in 2019] Below is looking at Running Backs only.
If he turned out to be an all American and we got one of those types every year, we could be an entirely different team.
Mullen admitted after the Alabama game that the difference between UF and Alabama was the DL and the OL.
And kind of bored with it already. We recruit OL as well as any mod major. At some point it’s on the staff for sure.
Saying the obvious does not make me any kind of genius I realize but this staff’s recruiting might maybe be acceptable had they never before had to recruit in the SEC but the eight years they recruited at Miss St should have made them skilled at selling from behind to these kids. They take the crumbs too often.
Read the link on the first post of this thread and what the mom says about UF. This boils my blood on the incompetence on this staff with recruiting elite talent
Does staff know they aren’t at MS anymore? Good lawd 6th is not acceptable and yet it is. The Gator standard is incompetence? Or maybe just a pinched nerve has me cranky today
