At least we got Copeland back and an upgrade over Corral. Chase was huge, but, we did have some coverage in that area with Jefferson being brought in.

UF commitment notwithstanding, I kind of suspect Chase was always going to LSU, no matter what happened with our coaching situation.

We were cooked that year the moment Scarlett and Callaway were involved in it. Just our luck smh. We won a few close games (Kentucky, Tennsee) but loss close ones too (Michigan, A&M, USCe, LSU). It's for the better in the long run though. He's where he needs to be at at CMU

Eh....we were lucky to be where we were considering it took a last second bomb against Tennessee at home and a comeback win against Kentucky to begin with. Something was seriously off with Mac. I don't see too many different outcomes for the rest of the season had he stayed

I said it in another thread....imagine where we'd be had he taken the Oregon job agter 2016 when they wanted him and Taggart had to stay at USF. Could you imagine Florida going after Taggart lol.

I don't disagree with that, just think the team wouldn't have fallen on its face the way it did if he had not been let go and word came out right before the UGa game.

Obviously the team wasn't very good that year, and stubbornly using Franks in an offense that didn't fit his skill-set wasn't wise. However, the team played hard and was right down to the wire in all the games prior to UGa except UMich.

    A&M finished 7and 6.
    LSU finished 9 and 4.

The other schools arent worth mentioning their records. Rarely mattered who we played. Those teams were nearly incapable of blowing out even bad teams. The season was a struggle from the beginning

No doubt...just think the team would have continued to struggle the latter half of the season rather than folding like they did when the head coach got ejected. The cancelled patsy certainly didn't help our final record.

He said he wants to be closer to home, Gainesville is much closer to Miami than Athens. Unless he meant closer as in returning to the south Florida area.

I’ll keep saying it. Still likes it Florida and was only a RS Freshman last year.

I'm interested in seeing how their whole offense look this year. Usually pretty hard replacing a 3 year starter at QB , and more so while trying to learn a brand new system under a brand new coordinator with a brand new QB transfer during a year that there was no spring ball. Should be interesting.

So, you don't think they matter? This upcoming season those guys will be either true Jr's or redshirt sophs which is the heart and soul of most teams. Great players normally don't stay for 4 years that's why I think the Jr's (highly ranked players) are the main cog for CF teams. Every body likes their new toy and forget about the older toys that got them there in the first place. In UGA's case maybe it doesn't affect them. But to dismiss it like business as usual is a mistake IMHO.

Dad said last season that they wish they would have not written UF off once Mullen was named HC or something like that

I remember not being able to comprehend why a WR would want to go to LSU where they never have a QB, while we just got one of the best QB whisperers in the league. Then Joe Burrow happened

Exactly. Luke going to have to prove he's as a good an OL coach as Pittman as he isn't the recruiter Pittman is (not many are) so far. They replace some talent on offense, bring back Pickens though. If there was a year we have to beat them, THIS is the year. We'll have more great chances in the future but as of TODAY, this will be our most talented squad under Mullen from an offense and defensive perspective. They play Bama this season too
