I concur, I would just prefer to take a different tangent. What we rail against time and again is, where would we be if Cam played QB for us instead of leaving? What gets missed in spades is that Cam became Cam once he "got religion," meaning he had to hit a major skid before he could progress to who he is today. In Callaway, I see someone who was given too many chances to "get it right" at UF. And all he did was do his best Jameis Winston imitation. What he needed to do was be sent on his way once he did not "get religion." And I do not expect he will get it until he is drafted in the 7th round or not at all.

Callaway is just on the long list of sketchy character kids that have come through here since Meyer's last 2 classes. He is not the only one to disrespect the coaches, the fans, the school, and the game.

That is why I am on board with Mullen. Job 1 in Gainesville is to clean up the bad behavior and get good kids in here.

Callaway was immature and he became a bmoc in his 3rd game vs UT. Went straight to his head. The athletic dept goes to great lengths to educate the players in all sports about rules.

Callaway will go at the latest late 2nd round, early 3rd. The NFL is about talent 1st and foremost. Kid has exceptional talent. Hopefully he will give back 100x what he has taken and what he has been given.

CLAYGATOR you said I was making stuff up: "I never said we should be tolerant of crime. Try reading my posts again, because you keep making stuff up."

Precisely what you said was: "It really irritates me when people don't like to cut kids some slack for crimes that are not violent, to each his own."

"They deserve a second chance unless they have demonstrated violent, sociopathic tendencies."

Cutting slack is not being tolerant of crime? Are we really speaking the same language?

I don't believe it has much to do with a fully developed brain. I think it has much more to do with an individual's moral compass. These guys know the difference between right and wrong.

I think it's more the environment they've been raised in. Does he have a father at home or was he raised by mom and grandma? I can introduce you to a dozen 17-20 year olds at my church who know the difference.

I hope AC is truly repentant.
And sincere and determined to walk a better path.
    He's saying the right things.
I hope he is 100% down with it.
The NFL ain't called "Not For Long" for no reason.

Does anyone else see this as less of an apology and more of a draft related self aggrandizement?

That's telling of a bad situation, but otoh some of the best people in the world are raised by their grandparents. I doubt he is completely a product of his environment.

It depends on where the kid is. Fsu = 5-6 times

UF = 1 or 2 times depending on the infractions.
