I am certain this may have been discussed in a thread I missed, so sorry if this is a dupe.
BUT, I have to say, Anthony Schwartz is SO FAST, I never even saw him! Except on the 4 yard loss!

The kid is either not picking up on route running or other basic plays or Gus doesn't know how to use him. CDM would know how to use him

I'm still trying to figure out why it was so personal to him in the first place.

Should have come to Florida. He'd at least have a chance to win a track championship if football didn't work out.

Pretty sure Schwartz is a Toney/Copeland kind of WR. Very athletically gifted but hasn't learned how to be a true route runner and struggles digest their playbook. All his big plays were just him 1:1 vs. average athletes before, but against comparable talent you have to separate with more than pure speed - especially when your QB is getting pressured every play.

So true, a fast receiver is not necessarily a good route runner, that ends up at the proper depth and place at the proper time so a good QB can deliver on time and rhythm. Ike & Riedel prime examples of route runners who showed up exactly where Danny was putting the ball that he threw before they even made their last break. Thankfully our current reciever group seems dedicated to perfecting their craft, and it will help our younger receivers( Cope) learn the right way to play the position.

Ike and Riedel were also very fast. Green was also very fast and a great route runner. Schwartz is like John Capel right now.

Agree didn't mean to imply that Ike & Reidel were just route runners they were both very fast as you say.

And who were the two WR's making the TD catches for us in a big game yesterday? Swain and Hammond. We have numerous good receivers, but I still say those two are THE CORE of our WR's group. They are MONEY for us in big games.

I’d put this group of receivers we have now against the best four we ever had - Doering, Hilliard, Anthony, and Green.

I really don’t get it either. We wanted him, he picked Auburn. But screw him...he picked the wrong team.
