No everyone was saying Franks was raw, not elite talent.

He was one of the top quarterbacks in the country coming out of high school.

But still considered raw. I remember his clips. He succeeded on sheer will and incredible arm strength. He looked like he was at least two years away from getting on the field at the D1 level.

After what Mullen has been able to do with Franks, I'm not as concerned about taking a QB like Richardson. Both are incredibly competitive and seem to thrive on chaos. I think both are/were also very good basketball players.

It's hard to say. Richardson could be a bust even under Mullen's guidance. I don't really believe Mullen will land a QB he could not develop but it's possible. The thing about Franks is that CDM had to unteach and build his psyche so it says a lot. I hope Richardson is not finished with UF at this point but I imagine there is someone else out there that CDM likes. I have not watched AR's film but what I like is his size and athletic ability.

Agree with everything you say here, including the possibility Richardson becomes a bust. But I think we can afford a bust at this point, meaning take risks with exceptional athletes with high ceilings because Mullen has recruited ideal QB prospects two years in a row and has already seen great progress in E. Jones. But it would be even better if we signed another QB in this class to go along with Richardson. Beck seemed like a good fit. Let's see who else is out there. Got another junior day coming up weekend after this one. Maybe Mullen can get an out of the blue QB prospect in for the event.

Oh lol. For whatever reason, thought he was referring to LSU 2020 class because they have 2 4* QB's committed

If Mullen can be successful with his last qb in MSU, AR will do just fine. If we move on to someone else, there’s plenty of time. The jones should fill at least the next 2-3 years after Franks. We only need a qb this year to groom for the future unless we have one of the Jones’s transfer.

Richardson's arm is way better than Jones. He is ranked low because he never did any combines and neither his parents or coaches put him on the circuit. Kid has a lot of potential.

Right. He had Nick Fitzgerald on his way onto becoming at least a 3rd or 4th round pick before leaving Starkville, and yet we saw how disfunctional Fitz looked this year as a passer.

I think he is just hoping he gets an offer from Clemson. He has wanted one since before he committed to us

He 100% won't go to Clemson as they are going to get DJ Uiagalelei who's the top player in the 2020 class.

A top QB wants to go to Clemson and sit the bench behind Sunshine for 2 years? Wow. Talking about the rich gets richer

Probably only one year as it’s unlikely Lawrence stays past his jr year.

Right and considering they just signed 4* QB Taisun Phommachanh this past cycle and possibly DJ Uiagalelei this upcoming cycle, AR would be setting himself up for an uphill battle going to Clemson. I mean, our QB room would look tough for him too should Franks come back for his SR season, but as we all said; AR needs seasoning
