Right - except the second scene, I'd assume. The opening scene of R1 is Jin (sp) as a young girl. The 2nd scene, first post credit scene, is Cassian at that trading outpost. So they'll have to set the stage for that encounter. I only know all this cause I recently watched the 1st 10 mins of Rogue one so I'd know it well as this ends ..
I guess they still have to set up the contact with the imperial pilot that wants to defect in Rogue 1. The show also kind of reinforces how Cassian is a little impatient with the rebels and wants to start things up with the empire on his own.
He's the synthesis between the Alliance and the Saw Guerrera extremist faction, he's more keen to act and not play internal politics like the Alliance, yet more humane and cautious about sending people to pointless/symbolic deaths than Saw or Luthan.
Which is where the show seeks to live; Examining the lives of those impacted by increasing authoritarian rule and the decisions they have to make on what to do about it. Go along? Ok - how far is too far? [List of characters / decisions here] Fight it? Ok - how far is too far? How much will you sacrifice? [List of characters / decisions here]

I didn't know this so I thought the Luthen episode was the last one. I was pretty let down at that "finale". I'm pretty excited to watch 11 and 12 tomorrow.
Watched The Whole Thing, including all three last night. Agreed, this is some outstanding TV. As someone who consistently poo-poos the SW Disney spinoffs (a couple are passable, some are just crap, and none are great), it is hard to believe this is in the same family. It is so good that I'll rewatch R1 now, and I already mentioned that I recall really liking it way back when upon first viewing. They somehow made "May the Force be with you" mean something again, ironically by focusing very little on it. Don't think there was a single light saber or Air Choke the whole time. I really liked the Saw character and FW's story. FW's chew-up-the-scenery tact is a lot more palatable now with some back filler info. The dilemmas seemed legit, and the anti-hero Luthen character was great. Threw in enough fan service. They made the robot humor acceptable instead of childish/cringe and even had me irrationally emotionally attached to one at the very end. And the political commentary was somehow both overt and nuanced. It's likely the people being spotlighted will even figure out they are the subject, and it's too sophisticated for their Machine to put out simpleton talking points to rail against it. If you just go into one of those other junkers, like the Mandalorian or Obi-Wan with no pre-existing SW love, I can't see how you'd either make any sense of it or especially enjoy it. But you could conceivably watch this show with zero knowledge of SW other than that this monster phenomenon exists without you and come out on the other side having loved a new TV show.
I only watched the 1st of the last 3 last night, and it might have been one of the best of the series for me.
If you're referring to the Mon Mothma scene where she is drunk and spinning out of control in the dance floor then we just have very different tastes, because I thought that scene was incredible.

Agreed. That was one of my favorite episodes of the series. I loved how that wedding reception was similar to ones I've been to where everyone gets carried away.
