There have been advancements in cancer treatments and he may not have one of the super bad pancreatic cancers. He has a sluggers chance and he should make it 6 months to a year if treatments dont work.

I'll take "Chemotherapy" for $1000, Alex.

In all seriousness...that's a rough diagnosis. Pancreatic cancer is horrible, and quick.
    Prayers go out.

Pancreatic cancer doesn't present symtoms until, in most cases, it's too late. I remember reading about this test which detects a blood marker in the early stages if the disease. In 2015 it was predicted to be available in a year. I wonder if it's available yet.

For those of us who have had lost loved ones to that terrible disease, thoughts go our to Alex, his family and friends.

Yup, had a fireffighter friend who I used to coach sports with. Athletic guy and no family history, just bad genes somewhere I guess.
Within months of his retirement he got the pancreatic cancer diagnosis and in less than a year he was gone. Very sad.

I lost both parents to cancer way too young. Cancer sucks.

One of my best buddies is waging war with stage 4 "take your pick" cancer. Dude is getting after it. So far so good, and his latest scan showed almost all of the small tumors are gone. The golf ball sized one is still in his liver but at least is hasn't grown. Fingers crossed.
