You might be right on Spikes, but I remember Davis having a pretty damn good year his Junior year. Even better than his senior year

    Junior stats 94 tackles, 50 solo 44 assists 1 pick, 3.5 sacks 1 FF
Senior stats - 60 tackles, 29 solo, 31 assist 2 sacks, no interceptions, 0 FF

I know he went later in the 1st round to Detroit.

He went in the first round. Tebow has proved a lot of people wrong in his life.

    In my head--- UF
I responded to a guy who asked:

“Who was our last surefire high pick that stayed rather than go pro?”

Tebow was my guess...someone else after him?

so he question was who STAYED not who left early.

No you are right...Tim was the last. But, based on who was coaching after Meyer, would you stay when the grass appears greener on the other side? Muschamp and McElwain both made it easy for juniors to leave when we sucked so bad. Why stay when you aren't going to do any better? It was a given that if you were an offensive player under both, the high bar was when you signed with Florida. Under Muschamp, defensive players could have stayed and improve on their draft, but many thought "If I stay, can we win a championship?" The answer was a resounding NO. Same with McElwain. No reason to put oneself in harm's way for a team that will never smell a title.

Now under Mullen, that should change.

Leatherwood on the other hand would have looked good in aqua and orange. He would have replaced Tunsil.

Is it just my faulty memory or has Leatherwood been at Bama for about 10 years?
