Alabama Lifts Its Ban on Yoga in Schools
Namaste to all. But just don’t say it out loud.
Some of the things that happen in this country really make you wonder.
The ironic thing is, yoga now seems as much of a gateway to Q anon as it does to whatever they were trying to prevent in Alabama.
I’m not suggesting that yoga practitioners in any significant part devolved into Q anon types, but it does happen with somewhat alarming frequency
If you have a "wellness" hustle its just another marketing strategy.
But you can’t take it too far
Did they also ban speaking of or writing down the units for resistors in physics?
No namaste, no problem. Moving to Alabama to start my "Hello Nasty" yoga experience
Uh-OH. I went to Yoga just last night and said OM and Namaste too. Creeping Sanskritism. Mothers, watch your children. Its too late for me, I'm too far gone to ever live in Alabama again.
Critical legislation and I applaud the progressives in the state.
Dials down my climate change concerns..............
question: Bama still can arrest folks for certain sex acts at home with the wife......yes?
It’s nice to see that the War on Yoga is finally coming to an end. Reminds me of the Calisthenics Wars from 1834-1837 that tore the country apart.
waiting for some genius to propose a ban on arabic numerals
I could see MTG authoring that bill.
redneck yoga pants are still yoga pants...
I had deja vu. There were some good posts on this back in March I remember when proposed.
They will be banned in school next as too suggestive for the girls to wear
The Tomi Lahren yoga pants with a gun pocket are exempt though
So some people think that the Mayor Barefoot thread was useless, but somehow Yoga in Bammer is important? lol.
Bill may lift ban on yoga in Alabama schools
When I took yoga in G’ville we were packed in there - only 2-3 inches between mats and because the studio was very close to campus the other 30 people were all ~ 23 years old, 90% female, and cute as speckled pups. I suffered mightily from impure thoughts and lack of focus to my practice at first. Finally, I just started staring at the floor or did the poses with my eyes closed. When I started with the hot-yoga there at 105 degrees/high humidity I was fighting for survival and half-naked girls didn’t interest me after about 20 seconds. But they weren’t there for me anyway and I didn’t want to be creepy old guy. I learned focus
Interesting. My good friend owned a yoga studio and went from normal to Q in early 2020 (before COVID). Tried having apolitical chats with him but he’d unravel quickly and send me a few Q links per day (which I ignored). I said a friend isn’t a friend when they don’t listen to your wishes to avoid politics. He couldn’t stop obsessing over Q, so I bid farewell to him.
Yoga teaching you to have a “open mind” backfired because it means consider everything, even Q.
