Congrats to A.J.!
Clearly Sparky Anderson is not managing the A's.
Veteran LHH everywhere shuttered “WTF, the Big Unit had a son???”...
His mom must have been good looking because AJ ain't that ugly.
Best of Luck in the MLB to the big lefty!! Well deserved - Gator Great!
I saw him pitch two innings vs. the Travs here, and when he struck out 4 of 6, I knew he was on his way. Gator Made!
Didn’t pitch last night, but the As are red hot. Hope AJ tears it up.
Looks like they're bringing him outta the pen after commercial break.
He's bringing some pub to Gainesville with the appearance. Overthrowing, which is not unexpected.
99mph i think 6 times in a row, but walks first batter.
Hit 100 and gets his first out.
What a play by the 2B!
Well, not what he was hoping for I'm sure but he'll get more opportunities. Hopefully Hendricks can clean up those runners he left.
Damn, short outing. One walk, one hit, one fly out. Big boy is bringin the heat though.
Got to harness the adrenaline—then, watch AJ go!
Randy Johnson couldn’t “pitch” early in his career either, at least based on my recollection. AJ is getting too old now for this continued inconsistency but his upside is incredible.
You are right. Randy Johnson at a crucial point in his career “hooked up” with Nolan Ryan and Tom House (learning to pitch with his leg drive and down through his back with follow through)—then the handle “The Big Unit” started mastering achievements he had not previously known.
It's probably the only way he can get any innings in the show right now, but Puk never struck me as a guy you wanted pitching out of the bullpen. He needed some time to find rhythm and get the strike zone down. Remember in the 2016 CWS when O'Sullivan brought him in to face the lefty and he immediately hit the kid on the head?
