Apparently, a British aircraft engine parts supplier has been forging certification documents for engine parts, and those parts are winding up in U.S. airline engines. The planes of concern are the Boeing 737 and the Airbus A-320. The U.S. airlines involved are American, Southwest, and United. About 96 planes worldwide are believed to be affected at this time. Assuming there are other spare parts, It shouldn't be that big an issue. Glad they identified the issue before there was a crash.
What kind of sick SOB skates on engine parts? AOG Technics is in deep trouble....oh, and I'm flying Southwest this week. Gotta love those 737s.
This has been going on for decades. America West, among others, used to fly their jets to S America for heavy maintenance. Among other things, they found mattress springs installed on jets replacing key flight surface control systems. They were not referred to as America Death for nothing.
