A team with little ball movement, a team that can't make shots. Yet another game with far more turnovers than assists (8 assists, 13 turnovers). We can't make shots because we take too many bad shots.

All this points to lack of discipline. We play well one game, then we play loose the next. We hit shots one game, then take a bunch of ill-advised shots the next. We have some success, so we get full of ourselves and take it easy, rather than continue to push forward and keep improving. One step forward, one step back.

This is who we are. Will this trend ever end?

Let's not lose sight of the fact that Providence is lousy and played like crap. This team consistently underwhelms against quality opponents. We survived a horrific last 5 min to at least beat Xavier. Every other decent team we've played has been a loss. We can't even take advantage of USU losing their starting C early. Terrible loss going into league play. Maybe we put 80 up against LBSU and everyone will get fooled again.

Probably not, but he isn't going anywhere after this season. Don't know many ADs that fire a guy for a mediocre season after 3 straight NCAA appearances.

We will not win enough SEC games to warrant an NCAA bid. And Baylor will kill us in the Big 12 challenge.

Need a shake-up in the starting lineup. The grouping of Blackshear, Johnson, Lewis, Nembhard, Locke...just doesn't work. And they played the majority of minutes today.

Never said he would get fired. He won't. He is a good guy, "looks" and "talks" the part but there's zero substance. We won't be a good all around team with him here. Sample size is more than large enough to see that. It is what it is. He's a mid major coach, plain and simple.

One word that perfectly describeS this team.....enigma.

CMW doesn’t know who this team is.
The players don’t know who they are.
Gator fans can’t figure out the team or the coach.

I wonder what would happen if we played a game where White said each player can shoot a maximum of 2 outside shots, unless you make at least 1-2. You then get a 4th shot if you make the 3rd. If not, you take it to the rack or find a way of getting the ball into someone that can pound it inside. This settling for jumpshots - and from guys that AREN'T MAKING their jumpshots is ridiculous. This game was lost in 2 minutes, when we went 0-3 on jumpshots and they made 3 straight layups.

Starting 0-15 is not a recipe for winning against most any team. We shot ourselves in the foot early and managed to battle back but still made some poor decisions down the stretch.

This is true. 8:19 to start the game without a point. Or go 4:18 without a point from 6:08 to 1:50 left in the game. That's 12:37 or 32% of the game with no points. Our scoring droughts are unbelievable.

That’s it in a nutshell. Can’t say it any better than that. Wish he would have been the coach that we were needing but it is crystal clear that he isn’t what this program needs to stay a top rated program. If White stays, Florida sinks back to being a middle of the pack SEC team and regresses back to pre-Donovan days.

Lewis was the only player who shot the ball from the floor decently today. He was 5-0 and the rest of the team was 15-53. Mike White has to share the blame but so do the players.

The last 2 were barely in though, I agree if we sneak in this year, no chance of him going anywhere. No AD would probably make that move, I guess at some point it has to break on way or the other. Either white will finally get it together on the court, or the team will just more definitively be “bad” to the point of a losing record, in which case it becomes a more obvious move for an AD.

Needs to start with taking better shots, and not settle for so many jumpshots - especially when we aren't hitting any of them. We also missed a ton of layups though.

I think White needs to be a "Program Leader" type head coach, one who hires an offensive guru that is in charge of the offense...and a defensive guru/coordinator that deals with the defense...while he runs the show. White hasn't shown anything outside of the aberration that was the PK80 tournament that he can coach a high-powered offense. And the way he responded since PK80 gives no indication he wants a high-powered offense. Instead, we run a methodically slow half-court offense, with a team that can't consistently make outside shots or effectively finish at the hoop. So what are Mike White teams exactly? in Year 5 we're all still trying to figure that out, even him.

The question is - based on what White inherited, have we (barely) made the NCAAT because of who we were and who we've been able to recruit based on what Billy built, or because of White. It can be argued that we've underperformed from day 1 (outside of the EE run). Any success has been an anomaly, not the norm.

True, but the offensive issues have been rather persistent. For 3 years now. Ever since that PK80 tournament really. Such a weird deal, we put up a string of unheard of 100+ point games, and for the rest of that season struggled to hit the 70’s. Now we are struggling to hit the 60’s seemingly every other game.

I think maybe he thought this team would excel at the half court efficiency game, and on paper it should have at least been far better than last year, but so far we have been relatively terrible at this exchange. It seems clear to me this team needs more tempo, we are literally one of the slowest tempo teams in all CBB. Ranking in the 300’s.

Because White purposely put the breaks on that offense, said we had too many defensive breakdowns. But we were WINNING. And it was EXCITING basketball. At least the PK80 was fun to watch. This, not so much.

I'd take 100+ points and a mediocre defense than grinding it out every game in the 50s and 60s.

Some of us tried to make this case 10 games ago but so many had their head in the sand waving their pom poms.

It's the same team that got curb stomped by FSU. Zero growth out of all this talent.
