Didn't Trump promise to deport all the immigrants who were taking away "black jobs" from African Americans? We can talk about Trump's deportation issues in another thread, but in this one, we'll look at rising African American unemployment. AA unemployment rose to 7.2% in July, up from 6.3% in July of 2024 and 6.8% in June. Why is this important above and beyond Trump not following up his promise to increase the number of "black jobs?" AA unemployment is often the canary in the coalmine, and as AAs are often the first employees let go. It's a potential bad sign for the economy.
If this were his first term it would be a problem (for him, it's absolutely a problem don't get me wrong). Given that it's his second term and he just fired the person who publishes the jobs report to replace them with someone of his own choosing, I have a feeling those numbers are about to flatline. Forward facing at least....
If the numbers are bad then we blame Biden. If the numbers are good then it's because of Trump. Did I get that right?
I have a white job but I’m always looking around for other opportunities. Never thought about looking into a black job.
“Black Jobs” was just his racist way of saying he expected black people to take the minimum wage fruit picking, slaughter house, and lawn mowing jobs once he ran out the immigrant work force.
The fastest way to solve this is to open up a nation wide CBD industry and award licenses, distribution, and banking to black owned and operated businesses. Trump could market it as reparations.
