They may be a different team from early in the season the same we are a different team since beating Miami. Clemson will show us the blueprint on how to destroy them.

When Clemson beats Virginia in the ACC Championship Game....and IF the College Football Playoff committee doesn’t rank an ACC team other than Clemson in its final rankings....the Orange Bowl is allowed to select any ACC team to represent the conference in the Orange Bowl.

Folks, we may be playing Florida State or Miami again in the Orange Bowl!!!

FTR - I believe a good game is UF winning by 28 points at halftime. It allows me to eat my food without the stress of the 2nd half.

I really hope we play UVA and it's a good game.

This thread really should have been titled “Meet Virginia”.

    That is all, carry on.

I was just thinking about that. Hopefully Virginia keeps it respectable, stays ranked and doesn't give them a choice. I don't care about them being in state the Orange bowl can't possibly look at the crowds for a home miami/fsu game and think it will be a good business decision.

OB would want to bring in some travel to bolster the civic commerce end of things. I imagine UVA gets picked regardless, as their fans would probably be pretty stoked (even after a beat down by Clemson) and obviously book more hotel rooms than Nole or Cane fans. They aren't willingly picking a rematch.

VT would probably be on deck if they didn't want UVA.

ND would move to the head of the list if that's the case.

I don't know much about UVA, but they seem happy to be improving in football; and finally beating VT after 15 years. I would guess they would be happy with any good bowl game.

Virginia destroyed USCe in the Belk bowl last year.
UVA came in focused and disciplined and USCe came in like a Muschamp coached team- they couldn't give a rip.
A USCe fan I know said they knew the Gamecocks had no chance after the first series. (Former football player.)

So UVA will come in focused, I'm sure. We need to do the same.

ND is not eligible to be our opponent in the OB. It will be UVA. Every other possible ACC option lost their final game (VT, FSU, Miami, Wake, L'ville), none of those fans are going to be as happy as UVA's fans with their season, even after Clemson rips them apart.

With the extra bowl prep time, I trust our QB run defense will be ready. Skilled passers who can beat a blitz seem to be our achillies heel.

the most important thing you need to know about UVA is that their fans are insufferable pricks. They believe they're Ivy League, for all intents and purposes. (or "all intensive purposes" for those of you in Tennessee)

Bowl games are about one thing - who is motivated to play.

we are the better team on paper, if we are motivated we will be ok.
