At Virginia.....seems like this speaks volumes about our likely Orange Bowl opponent. Not taking a win for granted of course especially in the bowl season. But still... Screenshot_20191205_112211.jpeg

They only beat Florida State by 7 points at home. We should feast under transitive properties.

oh! gotcha, yes we should win. Would love a better matchup though, but an 11 win season hasn't happened around here since...2012?

Only UCF does that. It’s how they win national championships.

One thing for sure if it is uva they will be jazzed to go to Miami, and to play us. The only way to defend us is a ferocious pass rush and uncommonly good defensive backs and line backers. And we've faced far better, no?

Their mobile QB is pretty skilled.
I wouldn't say this will be a cake walk.

Last year that would have mattered. We have been much better at being disciplined.

We will likely be more than a 2 TD favorite over them. Hope the guys don't let it go to their heads and mail it in. UVA could put up a fight.

While I am concerned about overconfidence, Mullen is no Chump.

    True, that...…..very true!
Very eager to see CDM / Gators finish 11-2

Could even end up in the top 5 if things break right!

Unless we have a bunch of seniors opt out of playing at key positions, or just phone it in because it is a bowl game and they don't want to risk injury, we should win fairly convincingly.

I've watched just about every UVA game this year, and I happened to be at the FSU game mentioned by the OP. IMO, they are sorely outmatched when they play teams with far superior speed like FSU, UM, and us! They coulda easily lost that FSU game if WT had any type of pulse or game management skills.

That said, Bryce Perkins (QB) is probably the most mobile and fastest QB we've played all season and will give us fits if we let him run loose. He is probably their best and maybe fastest athlete on the team. And he LOOKS to run alot -- partly because he's not that great a thrower. The only other offensive weapon that concerns me is Joe Reed who is their best weapon in the mold of a poor man's Deebo Samuel.

Defense is solid but lack of team speed is exploitable with matchups. Their pass rush is pretty solid. I think at one time, they were tied for the lead in sacks, but I dunno where they ended up.

They are riding high after breaking the 15 yr losing streak to their biggest rival. Everyone in town is crowing about UVA sports again. They should get pretty manhandled I'm thinking this week vs Clemson which should give a solid blueprint for exploiting their weaknesses.

Given the confidence I immediately thought of 2012 as well but of course these are quite different teams. That year we scraped by with shit offense (total offense ended 104th). It was basically snap the ball, immediately panic and hope for a positive Driskell run; occasionally get a decent, medium pass. Now we have one of the best WR corps in the country and Trask. And Mullen.

That 2012 team definitely rushed better but we're still able to get the occasional big run this year and with Toney back there are more opportunities on the ground.

Virginia is obviously a good team and given the lack of familiarity on both sides I'm sure it'll be a close game for a while, but there are far fewer ways for Virginia to expose us here than Louisville in '12. If they somehow manage to start sacking Trask left and right we'll be in trouble and it should be noted they ended #6 in the country in sacks but our pass blocking has been solid and they haven't faced receivers like this. Nor a QB like this for that matter. Once they get gashed a few times I'm sure they'll soften up at the front.
