based on my experience at the Mac most of the students that show up, UFers or oppos alike stay glued to their personal devices and rarely have the slighted interest in the game, I believe many UFers are there to get their attendance credit for priority seating at MBK

Agreed. It’s been my experience that the most of the student age groups are either/or girls that date players (and perhaps their friends) guys that know our current roster from either HS (maybe even HS teammates) or family.

Not many others are all that interested in the game.

exactly, when UCF came up for the mid week a gaggle of girlfriends sat 3 rows below us in row 10, the only tine they looked at the field was when their beau was at bat of made an error :) easy on the eyes however :)

$1 beers for anyone with a student ID. The bull gators bend the rules and have their own little roped off section in front of the swamp that allows alcohol on campus during football season. I spent every game day for years there (once I was 21 of course ). Why not allow students to drink at the games? I know it will never happen, but we would immediately double our crowd size.

UF UAA/gator baseball needs to Engage them thru their devices. Maybe a “Pokémon variation” of viewing the game thru social media/smart phones?

Nailed it. Girlfriends, wannabe girlfriends, friends of girlfriends.Add in a few athletes from other sports. And then the former high school baseball players or friends of the players. Thats pretty much it at most schools

Remember the night we had that group of exchange students sitting behind us?? Some of their quotes were "okay that guy throws the ball and then they try to hit it with the bat and if they do they run down that line and step on that white square." Then they just started yammering on and on about who knows what but nothing about baseball. We got so fed up with their loud talking we stood up in front of them for a whole inning and they didn't even notice. Not one of our finer nights at the Mac.

just the way I remember it, they were ignorant of any aspect of the game but as I recall the young lady was far more adamant than knowledgeable about baseball

Yeah but she was the tour guide who probably set the whole thing up and the only one who cared to be there. Unfortunately the rest of them were expecting to see Ichiro Suzuki.
