EJ will come to us if winning is important to him. Much less likely at A&M or Stanford. Who knows what’s on his mind.

I agree. Let's let them know that wasn't nice after they sign with us though...

What is crappy to me is that there is such a thing as commit and de-commit at all. Obviously anyone that has to announce a "de-commitment" wasn't very "committed" at all!

I could see him going to either of those -- Stanford because the degree is so, so valuable and Texas A&M because it is his home state school. But I agree Florida is where he is most likely to win. Stanford is struggling these days and A&M has a rough road trying to climb the ladder in the SEC West.

I am so jaded with recruiting when I hear that "Smith's parents want him to stay close to home and sign with UF," all I hear is, "Smith's parent's are holding out for a big *** offer from Saban to move them Alabama." Crossing my fingers that the good guys win out.

Think he was just drumming up excitement and drama for himself, or was the last minute pressure from Bama too much to say no to?

Our Recruiting Staff doesn't get the ABC's of recruiting.

I am tired of, year after year, listening to pre signing day hype about players flipping to UF only to be let down. I think CDM has landed a good quality signing class and has proven that he can do more with less. However, UF continues in the "good" column, while dreaming of the "elite" column. When does the pendulum swing our way. Save your bacon, I believe in this staff and trust they will make all of us proud. Just how proud remains to be determined. A little bummed, that's all. Cue the "snake pit."

This is why I don't even really follow recruiting much anymore throughout the year, I basically just look at our final class. Sometimes i don't even pop in on signing day anymore. Though obviously I am here today, so I can see we didn't close well to push into top 5. Still a top 10 class so not bad. Hopefully we get lucky again in the xfer portal, Greenard was huge this past year. Obviously getting an instant 1st rounder like that is a huge ask, but with all we are losing we should certainly have appeal to a quality grad transfer WR at least.

Mullen has some dead weight on his staff. Sooner he realizes that the better.

I think CDM values coaching ability and stability over recruiting prowess. Bama had a defense this year that was full of star ratings but clearly didn't live up to the hype and appeared under coached. That being said we don't seem to be getting anything or getting better at a couple positions.
