I guess he feels Turkish families and children deserve to die because of some geopolitical point of view.

    Also from my daughter:
“If you want to give directly to a local organisation working on the ground, white helmets is good and a first responder in these kinds of situations:
    Support the White Helmets

We are humans. We should help each other in times of distress to the extent we’re able to.

Spent two weeks in Turkey last summer. A great country. Prayers out to those dealing with this horror.

And humanitarian aid workers, such as that poster’s daughter, who were already on the ground for different reasons.

This is a terrible event that is hurting our fellow humans in a terrible way.

Praying for God's grace on those suffering and for God's children to step up in showing His love.

Dr. Lucy confirms my intuition that aftershocks of this intensity are highly unusual

Heard a SECOND quake, a 7.5 or 7.7 is being reported. NOT an aftershock,, a separate quake altogether.

That's tough, weakened buildings are reported to have collapsed in the second quake.

    Rough news

New someone that went through the 99 quake there. Buildings are often not constructed with quake safety standards.

If Turkey updates their building standards, materials demand for steel and concrete is going to drive prices even higher. So much destruction there. The post survey of the infrastructure including nat gas facilities is going to be interesting considering their goal to become the nat gas hub between Russia, ME, and Europe

Some of the footage is horrifying to watch. People are posting videos on all the social media sites and every building it seems is subject to collapse and from what I have been reading, there are no places to go except waiting in open areas to hear from their loved ones. Buildings collapsing like a house of cards. Entire blocks are just rubble. It's extremely sad.

And the weather appears to be a bit cold, but everyone staying outside. So many hardships.

Extremely sad to see this. Many parts of Turkey and Syria make Buffalo, NY look like Miami, FL. Brutal winter so far and now this. Some areas won't be able to rescue because of the 5 and 6 ft of new snow coming. It'll be Pompeii except snow instead of ash.
