If Georgia was the team that beat Bama, they eould have to play them again today also. Similar to lsu /Bama playing during season a few years back then meating in the national championship. I didn’t disagree that they both deserved that second game. Totally different game the second time around. Texas beating Milroe in his first start could be vastly different outcome after a full season. It’s the best system we’ve had so far but I’d like Bama and Texas and even fsu if they win today to be in a twelve team playoff and settle it on the field.

Had the PAC stayed with a N and S division, the championship game would've been ac rematch of Washington and Arizona. UW won the first game in Tucson 31-24.

The reason the PAC changed formats was to set up a game just like last night, where the winner gets a playoff spot. Under the old format, had Arizona won, at 10-3, we wouldn't be a playoff team. And UW and Oregon would both have 1 loss, and possibly on the outside looking in.

Of course, with the destruction of the PAC, it's a moot point now.

“DeBoer” no “g.” We knew him when he was OC at SIU. You could tell he was going places then, and he had been a winner at Sioux Falls (NAIA). Stops at Eastern Michigan (the year UF played them), Indiana, and Fresno State. When Mullen was fired, I held out hope he’d get a look. But a midwestern guy coaching a west coast team…long shot at best. He would have been a good hire, though.

I said the same thing one year when LSU won the SEC. They beat Bama in regular season then played and lost to them in the NC game. How fair was that?

Only teams that would benefit from the weather would be the northern teams. SEC schools would be handicapped playing at Michigan in December.

To me an 8 team is best.
5 Conference champs. 3 at large.

16 makes the season go too long

I don't care. It would still be fun. Don't have to play every game in a test tube.

One extra week of home games and you're down to eight. Not that big a leap. No different than the non-bye teams next year. Lot less of a travel burden too.

Drop a stupid directional school then. Too many games IMHO for college.

Just saying. 8 Teams will potentially have to do this anyway next year. It's going to be 4 rounds to the championship. Again, why not just 16 then?

I suspect it will eventually climb to that number, but they want to officially kill off the bowl games first. Also, would be a little clunky "selling" rights to the additional 2 games, which is why they will never go for my first-round-on-campus idea. NCAA wants to be able to sell these games and everything that comes with it. Allowing teams to host the first round kills that, even though it actually makes far more sense in a 4-round format. Better for fans, better for players, better for travel and probably even better TV.
