(SB) 6 Alabama Players in the Transfer Portal Update

I would love to add Kilfoyl (from Land O'Lakes, FL) and Goodnight (who grew up in central Florida before her family moved to Alabama in 2019) to next year's roster.

 

Just read an article saying Murphy s offense is outdated with the recent changes in the slapper rule (gotta stay in the box when u hit). Team needs more power hitters.

I am curious to see who, if anyone, enters the portal for the Gator roster after their season ends. Thomas, Longley, Buffano, Pittman? Will Emily Wilkie stay, seeing as Sam Roe is steadily improving, plus Cali Decker's natural position is catcher and Coach Walton will be trying to find a spot for her bat in next year's lineup. Would Walsh consider going elsewhere after losing her SS job and being relegated to DP, or will she work to learn another position since her bat is so valuable? It will be an interesting off season.

 

Bloodworth plays 2b and has power.

 

Yesterday when I saw the list of Alabama transfers, Bloodworth wasn't on it. But she IS really good. The 2021 Georgia Gatorade HS Player of the Year from Cordele and the #10 overall rated recruit in the nation. She had a solid freshman year, hitting .292 for the season, although her average was well over .300 most of the year. She had 7 HR and only 22 strikeouts, with a slugging percentage of .566. She only made 3 errors at 2B and is a Top 25 finalist for national freshman of the year. I would definitely take her in a heartbeat. Wouldn't it be great if we could add Kilfoyl, Goodnight & Bloodworth? I hope Coach Walton is in contact to gauge their interest. Something is definitely going on in the Bama program to have all these really good players bailing.

If I counted right while looking at Alabama's roster, only Kaylee Tow is a Grad senior and can't return for them. With the 6 players transferring out, that leaves on 13 roster players left, with 3 signees. Trouble in Tideland??

 

She’s on it now, but she would be a great pickup imo. I got a feeling with that program it’s a chemistry thing. The program has been so established and successful I don think it’s a bad situation. I hope that’s not the case for sure.

 

I know catcher is Sam Roe's position, but she seems quick enough to be a middle infielder if needed. She did play some 2nd this yr as a freshman.

 

Correct my if I'm wrong but a player who transfers from 1 SEC school to another must sit out a year as did Skylar. So whilst planning your future rosters don't count an SEC transfer on your projected 2023 team.

 

That sit out rule is no longer there. Alabama's catcher played at Tennessee last year.

I think sam can just about play anywhere.

 

My exact thought too.....3rd,2B, 1B, C would all be possible
