Bill includes sweeping provisions not getting much discussion. And there are significant adds to the bill even repubs only learned about after they passed it. (ie what mtg was railing about)

Why is maga supporting all this?

“1,037-page bill was passed. The final version — filled with last-minute changes meant to placate various factions — didn’t materialize until 10:40 p.m. the evening before the House’s self-imposed Memorial Day weekend deadline, leaving lawmakers just eight overnight hours to digest it.

    5. Adding trillions to the deficit”

The fine print: 5 things that even some Republicans didn't realize were buried in Trump's 'big, beautiful' budget bill

Pubs are trying to discredit Congress' own budget oversight , the CBO, but ......
in this article (above) we find: "But the CBO isn’t alone in its approach. According to the New York Times, “the Budget Lab at Yale ... found the Republican proposal could add $2.4 trillion to the debt by 2034. The Penn Wharton Budget Model estimated it would raise deficits by $2.8 trillion over a 10-year period. And the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, a nonprofit public policy organization that supports deficit reduction, pegged the uncovered cost at $3.3 trillion over the next nine years.” Oh my. Maga hate numbers.

Everyone outside of a handful of maga politicians agree the BBB will further increase our already large deficit.

Trump is only interested in getting a tax cut for himself and other rich people.

All the rest of the bill is just meaningless to him - irrelevant noise that is necessary in order to pass his tax cuts. Quite obviously, he doesn't care about any impacts it has upon the debt. Quite obviously, he doesn't care about anything else.

MAGA voters don't even pretend to care about the debt, or anything else. Unless Trump says to. They only care about Donald J. Trump. Because he is a very great man.

This is all patently obvious by now.

It’s truly remarkable how much republicans care about debt. Right up until moment they’re in charge. Somehow they manage to gut important federal offices/programs and still make things worse debt wise. It’s almost a talent.

They gutted much of the oversight. Which makes sense when you understand their aim is not really to balance the budget or make govt more efficient, but rather it is to steal as much as possible.

I’m Disgusted by the debt, but have said before it’s a political loser and has been for 2 decades. You cannot compete with Santa Claus, so appears the republicans are finally saying screw it and taking massive spending giveaways away as a political Lay up solely for the left. Weeeeeeeee

I’m sure the left is thrilled with the massive firings of governmental employees, the loss of government services, such as FAA, NOAA and emergency services. Makes so much sense in the. … well, nowhere.

Finally? They've passed a deficit exploding tax cut literally every time they've been in power for my entire life. They stopped caring about even raising taxes or revenue in the aftermath after Bush Sr's "read my lips."

this is and has always been a juvenile and financially illiterate argument. Weigh down the population with absurd entitlement and spending that are not written anywhere in the constitution( aka buy votes) then when all above programs predictably balloon out of control make the argument it’s a revenue and not a spending problem. “ nooo, it’s not our program costs that are a problem, we just need more tax dollars to avoid a deficit”. If any person, family or business followed said strategy they would rightfully be Bankrupt, but it’s easy to buy votes with others people money. Not arguing or attempting to change anyone’s mind, there is no turning back now.

I guess you would consider Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security absurd entitlements. The constitutionality of those programs has been upheld. The problem is that politicians do not have the balls to tell American taxpayerss that if we want the programs we're going to have to pay for them and it's the Republican Party much more so than the Democrats who have pursued the borrow and spend policy. I'm so old that I actually remember when it was Republicans who opposed fiscally irresponsible tax cuts, the last one being the late George H.W. Bush who coined the term "Voodoo economics".

Sure, focus on entitlements YET please explain why there is still (and never) a verifiable audit of the military portion of budgets.

They are absurd. I don't know what to do about Medicare and Medicaid, but I think anyone 40 and under should be able to opt out of Social Security and not only NOT pay Social Security taxes, but get all Social Security taxes back with a predetermined amount of interest. We let the government take our money and give them an interest free loan. That money I give to Social Security, I would grow it a lot more on my own than it just sitting in the government coffers thank you very much.
