Was Langston's commitment shaky before this or did this come out of left field? Is there another school in play or did he want to enjoy the full recruiting process?

It's 2021 kids, relax. I always felt that one if not both would decommit. I don't think that means it's over for us, but that's asking a lot of a kid to hold onto a commit for that long period of time.

If he is a 5 star...what school wouldn't be interested in him?

Honest question, what do you guys expect him to say? No way he touches the Jalen Jones situation, nor should he. The Steele thing is tangentially related to Jones.

And he's not even allowed to speak on specific recruits until they've signed. Even if he could I doubt he would choose to address a high school sophomore decommitting.

To be clear, I'm not thrilled with the recent string of news either. But making public statements about behind the scenes stuff isn't solving any problems. I'm all for self assessment and fixing problems, but again idk what Mullen, or UF, gains from airing out dirty laundry.

Seriously, no 5 star will come to UF when their family is paid big dollars on the side at other top programs. Just as in Basketball where too kids were getting $10,000 month, the boosters take care if parents in form of houses, cars, jobs, .. you drive the price up by being a free agent and letting LSU, Bama, Auburn, Clemson, .... bid on you. Remember Reggie Bush’s family had a house at USC provided for them, Ohio State Star QB and RB were ticketed while driving dealer cars in Columbus. The only way to attract these kids when they get 5 star status is to pay them like other programs do. I’m no longer naive after listening to agent, shoe company and handler recorded calls in college basketball. Ole Miss only got good in football when they cheated. If you don’t want coaches to cheat, this is what will happen

Money is small part of the problem. If it were these recruits would be milking the gravy train all the way to signing day. When they commit early its not money. These 5-stars know that's its about the NFL (develop, perform, have fun, stay out of trouble).

If the “bagman” isn’t just making stuff up out of thin air, recruits are getting benefits while in highschool. They don’t wait to commit or sign to receive these benefits. It’s called getting on them early. But we don’t do that, just everybody else.

I was referencing Bryce Langston in that part. He's not on the team, nor are any of the guys I mentioned.

Per the article on Mullen flying to Cali, "Florida is unable to comment on the (Steele) situation due to student privacy laws." There will be no comment from UF or Mullen on either Jones or Steele, nor should there be.

Seriously, Coach Mullen needs to say something and maybe the UF President afterward.

Parents need to have confidence that their sons will have a positive environment at UF.

To say nothing to restore confidence in UF recruiting would hurt our program for the next year.

Without mentioning people’s names and just coming out publicly making positive statements would be a good thing. Doing nothing would be a bad thing don’t you think?

I need UF to make me feel better. The last few days make me feel sick. So imagine what recruits parents feel like.

So the boosters were paying players under Urban Meyer... But not under Mischamp and Maceltwain and Mullen? Why's that?

Well if all of what you're saying is how parents may feel, why haven't the 2020 class fallen apart?

It’s not boosters as that will cause problems. The money dries up when the coach doesn’t get the job done. Muschamp recruited fairly well till money dried up. We all know we don’t pay though.

Well, we pay less. Example...We help players get scooters while Bama provides dodge chargers.

Don’t think that’s a problem , everyone around us seems to be quite adept at airing our dirty laundry

Was just looking at Bryce Langston’s 247 profile and Wiltfong logged a crystal ball for us on October 5th. Haven’t seen that mentioned previously.
