Most good teams (top 10 each year) have 5 30 minute guys who play from game to game. This helps with things like tempo, passing, half court sets, etc. Florida only has 3. Depth is cool, but unnecessary for top teams; especially for tourney time. Yes, this is overgeneralized a bit; but true.

I would not have guessed that many (top) teams have five 30-minute guys on average. Did you research this?

We should have had three 30 minute guys in KJ, TM and CC. I don't know if CC can go 30 minutes, but there isn't anyone else I trust for 30 minutes. Locke is no better than he was a year or two ago, and is a turnover machine. Duruji is a great 6th man, but not a guy that deserves a lot of minutes. Scottie should have been the other 30 minute guy by now, but you can barely trust him with 10 minutes. Appleby would be a 30 minute guy if he wasn't turning the ball over 6 times a game. Without KJ, we basically have two really good players and a bunch of guys that don't deserve more than 10 to 15 minutes a game.

Appleby did a good job protecting the ball today. His usually TO rate was cut to two with 35 minutes of playing time. Needs to work on his assists more.

Michigan State beat Michigan today 70-64. Michigan State’s starters played 103 minutes and scored 29 points. Michigan State’s bench played 97 minutes and scored 41 points.

Is QG still better than TM?

For me at least, TM allowed me to reach a higher state of consciousness. I never tried QG.

Post is about top ten teams and trends. There are always exceptions. In this case, neither Florida nor Michigan State (similar teams) will compete for a championship this year.

There certainly appear to be exceptions. Here's the # of 30min players in ESPN's top ten BPI. To be generous, I included any players with 29min or more.

    Team..........players w 30min
    Gonzaga.......2
    Baylor..........3
    Houston.......2
    Iowa............2
    Illinois..........2
    Michigan.......4
    Villanova.......4
    Texas Tech....3
    Virginia.........4
    Tennessee.....1

That's exactly zero top ten teams with five 30min players. Where's the trend?

According to the OP, none of them will win the NC, nor Mich St.
