I happened to change the channel to ABC and saw Billy Porter in his full length dress doing the Red Carpet presenting. The Hollyweird crowd has lost touch with reality. They live in their own little fantasy world.

Does it bother you to see people just living the lives they want?

No-just keep it to themselves. This used to be an awards show and now it has become a platform for telling the rest of us how we should live ours.

I'm not talking about the dress, I'm talking about all the political crap from these "actors" that live in la la land.

I agree. Why do they think their opinions are so important to us? They live in a complete fantasy world, where their job is pretending to be other people.

I turned it off after a few minutes of the racial commentary.

Careful with the content in the thread. On this forum we can discuss most everything tangentially related, but stay away from hot button political issues that will spin this thread out of here faster than Donald off the stage, Quack;quack.

I haven't seen any of the films that were nominated and the ones I would have interest in seeing Trucker has no interest in seeing. We generally wait for them to come on TV then record them to watch at our convenience.

Remember this presenter on last night's show?

Her name is Maya Rudolph. Currently she appears in TV ads for Sling but has a number of movie credits , including the hot chick flick"Bridesmaids" from a few years back and 7 years on Saturday Night Live.

Maya was born in Gainesville in 1972. Her mother was the late great singer, Minnie Ripperton who died in 1979, much too early from metastasized breast cancer. Her father is producer / songwriter Richard Rudolph. They lived in Gainesville for 2 years before moving to L.A. in 1974.

So what’s displayed on prime time national TV by today’s entertainers is now too hot for too hot? That’s too much.

Nothing but a perverted 'mutual admiration society'. Can't remember the last time I watched it.

The winners sometimes tend to make political comments when receiving their Oscars. Too Hot is the forum for politics on Gator Country. It's perfectly alright to discuss anything on the show with the exception of anything that strays into politics. Those comments will be deleted or edited. Talk about the show, the performers, the movies, the clothes, or whatever. But don't post about anything political the presenters, hosts, or winners might have said, please. Take it to the Oscar thread on Too Hot. The Mod Squad appreciates your cooperation.

Parasite definitely deserved best picture. Every aspect of the film was a great example of movie making. I thought about it for days after watching
