Reading the article on the front page of GC about the running backs. It says Bowman is injured? 1st I heard about that. Is that true?

DL is ahead of OL, so is DL really good or OL really bad?

    In my head--- UF
Somewhere on this site there was good reporting - the defense said that last spring, they couldn't tackle because of COVID ... and fall practices were limited contact for the same reasons.

If you believe that, then there is limited time to work on tackling from say January 1, 2020 until game 1. Especially for the freshmen.

Tackling is overrated. Effort and being in the right spot are not.

You mean the shoe throwing whisperer?

I reserve the right to bash him all off season becasue of the crap he put us all though last year.

But as far as the scrimmage goes, the Defense should be ahead at this time of the year... Good for the defense.

Yep, my bad. Meant to say Tarquin and not White. I mix them up in my mind for some reason. If Harrod or Tarquin cant replace the whiffer Delance then we have problems.

You missed the point. Poor tackling is explainable because of the things you reference. Looking lost all season, not knowing what the call is from the sideline all season, late calls from the sideline all season and so on...is a totally separate issue and not explained by the things you reference.

You can be in the right spot, but if you can't make the tackle...

I get the Covid impact of developing tackling skills. Hard to blame
Covid for Grantham’s inability for to get a play called in time for his guys to get set, or having 12 men on the field because he was late with a personnel call.

It could be serious, as the article suggests he may not be ready for the season. "Bowman’s injury makes his role this season even more difficult to project." I can't tell if the writer means that he's missing too much practice or that he may be unable to play at all. Poor reporting, as if his injury is common knowledge.

I read about some nagging injury a week or more ago. It didn't sound like anything worrisome. Also read that Lingard is having a breakout spring

I can live with missed tackles if the effort is there. Sometimes you simply get beat. When guys are slow to their landmarks or are just lost it leads weak attempts. That is the real issue.

Nah, if a defense can’t tackle, they suck. Football is a game of attitude.

Way to go Gatorcountry for the confusing reporting. I haven’t heard of this injury on any gator site, except for that random insertion in this article that makes it sound like it is serious and common knowledge

Isn't attitude directly related to effort?
