SOS didnt miss on many, but another one he whiffed on was Adrian Peterson. Steve admits he blew that one. Nobody's perfect.

And brother of Mike Peterson, who rushed for 7600 yards in college and won the Walter Payton Award.

Yup. Had a pretty good NFL career, too, but was always the "other" Adrian Peterson.

We didn't do that well recruiting them. Doering was a walk on and they almost passed on Terry Jackson.

I don't think the McGriffs were going anywhere else. That family is pretty much Gator to the core.

Yeah, for whatever reason sometimes on local kids we just look past them.

Is it possible that because he is local, there is tremendous scrutiny on a player that may otherwise not exist? That person would have to be squeaky clean because family and friends are gonna park in the football related areas that are permitted. Having everyone you know Within walking distance to you would be begging for trouble in a lot of ways. Super high character or Uber talented. I do not know this kid or friends and family. Just an observation I would be leary of.

You can take a risk if issues are known but those issues are in, say, Miami...

Who you hang with is a big concern. Just ask Aaron Hernandez. Oh wait....

I still wish we’d have at least offered a preferred walk on to Willie Jackson Jr.’s son. The legacy that comes along with him is as good as any in Gator history.

AH didn't quite meet the top 1% of the 1%, at least in his life, he did on the field. Still disturbs me that AH made those decisions. Had so much going for him.

This kid has an offer from Michigan and looks pretty good playing in Knox' backyard.

    Knox has priorities in recruiting

if it doesn’t get in the way of his first job it will get done

But with one five star coming in no need for anyone of lesser degree

Who knows when Hernandez lost it upstairs?...Drugs, concussions or undiagnosed and untreated mental illness likely were long time issues for the kid. Undoubtedly it spiraled after he left UF toward its end many years down the road in NEW ENGLAND.
