The game is much quicker at the college level, and I dont see speed from this young man that equates to keeping up with the next level competition.....but is just my opinion.
Are you talking about his film or seeing him play live? I'll have to watch his junior year Hudl highlight video. What do you think about Hylton Stubbs?
I live in SWFL, so no I havent seen him.....just watched his hudl clips this morning. took a look at his cumlative stats and checked out the level of competition he saw this past season to get a sense of what he is actually seeing and playing against. Then just relied on my own developed sense of talent based on, the talent I have seen play over the years. OL and DL is probably the hardest for me to get a handle on what they'll do at the next level, so Ill usually do a deep dive into their individual measureables, and stats. Its just my opinion, but Im not expecting the last DL kid from Georgia that commited this past class to do much when all is said and done......he practically disappeared at times and I kinda felt it was a effort thing, not giving 100% all the time. Then on the flip side, I watched Myles through out the playoffs this past season, and I'm anticipating very big things from him at Florida, he's a guy that I feel is a natural leader as well as elevates the level of play of everyone around him! I was going to go look into Hylton Stubbs, but once I realized he was from Manderian HS I stopped. I was big time all about several players on the Manderian defense going into the championhip game and was sure theyed beat Columbus in the title game..... Columbus head coached game planned a hell of game on offense however. Bottom line however, yes Hyland Stubbs is the real deal and watch out for rising Manderian junior LB Isreal Ratliff, he's going to be a good one as well
Thanks for your insight into these players... Two things I have to realize when I see players running on high light videos is how much faster is the player than the opposing team's players, and if he's tall I look at the yards line/markers to give myself a better gauge of his speed. I'll check out Israel Ratliff, Stubbs and Pickett's Hudl videos again..
I see so many HS TE's here in Florida, with nice size and able to catch the ball, but nine time out ten they loose me when I watch them unable to block at the 2nd and 3rd level.....this kid's clip hooked me with his ability to block at all levels......everything else for me I saw is just icing on the cake!
This would be huge, as we have no replacement for Leonard and Mazz yet. We are just moving guys inside from outside.
