Florida football making moves on elite linebacker Tavion Wallace "The Gators are looking to go up to Georgia and snag one of 2025's premier defenders." By Will Thomas | 3:15 PM EST Florida football is trying to make a push to lock down one of the best recruiting classes in the country in the 2025 cycle. Tavion said this after he took a visit to The Swamp last weekend. Having that familiarity with a program from his youth could help the Gators out as his recruitment continues. Wallace is rated as the 46th-best player in the country, the No. 5 linebacker in the class, and the No. 9 player coming out of Georgia per On3's Industry Ranking. He's as high as No. 25 overall and the No. 2 LB on On3 Florida football making moves on elite linebacker Tavion Wallace Tavion Wallace - Wayne County - Linebacker
The state of Georgia has really sprung up with some very good talent the last few years. Always good, but it seems like some really high ranked kids are being produced out of the Peach State nowadays.
Yep, and now we should be winning more head to head recruiting battles against Bama. Long live the Gators!
It’s Because all the great Fla hs coaches moved to ga for better pay, with less classroom obligations.
Don't think they play it anymore. Georgia was good back in the day too. Remember watching Garrison Hearst one year. Had some dazzling moves.
definitely a thing. Very good friend of mine coached in palm beach county first as an assistant and then head coach at a new high school. Also had to teach a class. 10-12 years ago he was hired to relocate north of Atlanta with 3x the salary. No exaggeration. And didn’t have to teach. Massive difference in coaching pay. (Both the Florida and Georgia school he coached at were public schools).
Why is pay so bad for Fla Coaches. Does Geo and other states just make more money in high school football? Need to keep the good coaches here.
Yor're little late on that observation and analysis, been a sore spot among HS coaches for years. As I recall a month or so back the head coach Deion Sanders recently stepped up and advocated for better pay for Florida HS coaches.......
Some programs pay their HS coaches just to coach and others receive a stipend beyond their teacher’s salary to coach sports after school. Depends on State. My History teacher was my HS football coach.
Here is the latest on Tavion Wallace... We need to invite Travion more often and show him that he will be "safe" in the Orange and Blue uniform... in Gainesville. We are his dream school and we have to reciprocate and show him that we are that school that acres about him the most. Earlier this week, Wallace sat down with On3’s Phillip Dukes to break down the top contenders in his recruitment on ‘The Five Star Flex.’ Ultimately, finding a home away from home will be a major factor in the linebacker’s final decision. “Somewhere that feels like home, my mom and my dad — they don’t have to worry about me 24-7,” Wallace said. “I just want them to feel safe wherever I go. I want to feel safe wherever I go, feel like home, feel like family everywhere around me.” Florida: “Growing up, that’s been my team. It’s just been a dream to finally get that experience, go to the facility and everything and chill with the coaches. It’s just been a blessing to really sit down and do all of this.” Elite 4-star Peach State prospect discusses top contenders in his recruitment
Still having a hard time believing UF and especially so with Kirby Smart establishing a big brother relationship, but I'm happy to see UF on his list. At 6'1"/197, is he really a LB? Lots of time left and top programs on his list.
