I get chasing money but how motivated is someone who chooses Colorado going to be? Obviously we haven't been a competitive program but it seems universally accepted that we have a talented roster and had bad coaching. The potential is there.

I dont follow Colorado much but they looked like a mess last I saw once their two stars left. Wanting to win has to be a component to getting the most out of a player in my opinion. Unserious is right.

 

Just a money play. At 375 pounds will likely not have fitness to make a 53 man NFL roster. Had not started in two years at two programs and would not have been a first team starter for UF next year. Agree was needed for depth.

 

No more players can enter the portal with exception of Miami and Indiana players that can enter the portal from January 20-24th. Team can still target those college players NIL agents with offers to induce them into portal for big payday increases. Other than this, you can target grad transfers at end of May for Spring or August for Summer semesters

Is Clinton more or less a replacement for Brien Taylor, a smaller interior D lineman that plays either NT or DT?

 

I think Kalu was the replacement. I think he is a more like for like and his dad is a pretty well known de from the NFL.

 

Can’t see Clinton getting on field this year unless an injury. Depth signing.

 

If we needed Tarvorise Brown to soak up some snaps last year, we will definitely use this guy who is a lot less raw than Brown was.

 

He seems very serious about playing for the most money possible to me.

 

I looked at the 247 Top OL transfer portal and it is not what I expected to see with the new staff. 16 of the top 25 to SEC programs. 2 to ALA- 2 to S CARl.- 2 to KENT. 2 to AU. The Gators highest ranking OLmen at 51. I support our coaches but it seems like we have been down this NIL road before. If we can't povide our coaches with talent it doesn't matter who we hire. No blame game here but it is what it is.

 

You may be right but drill down a little.

Where did the other 8 go?

Do you think all SEC programs that got the 16 out spent us? Or perhaps there are underlying factors as to coach movements, players wanting to be closer to home, other connections, other factors, etc.

Perhaps our staff wanted the guys they got from their old teams?

Are we done yet?
