I don't trust OL ratings. Seems like the vast majority of eventually-decent OL come in at 3-star. It's whether they grow, get stronger, and learn in their freshman and sophomore years that matters. I've also seen too many 5-star OL that didn't pan out. I think the rating system breaks down for OL a lot of the time because of the nature of development for the position.
All 3 stars on 247 https://247sports.com/college/florida/season/2026-football/commits/ Kent is the only one that made the ESPN top 300, but 247 lists him as a TE. https://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/rankings/scnext300boys/_/view/rn300 Hopefully Kent is what he is cracked up to be and can learn the position quickly if he even wants to play tackle. This OL signing class was a typical Napier class of projects. Like I said earlier, hopefully 2 or 3 of the projects are successful.
Absolutely and all the guys we took have potential. We do need four tackles ready to take snaps in six months though. We dont have two years to develop these guys. I think we look solid for backups and perhaps have a legit starter but i dont see three sec ready tackles .
Playing is the key. He will get paid enough they will have to give him playing time even if it starts off rougher than expected.
Hes below what i think is his talent level so he should be the clear starter if he can stay on the field. He would have to compete much harder for snaps if he went to a bigger school and he is running out of audition time.
