2024 RB commit Jarrick Gibson has been ranked #1 at his position by 247. Gibson is 5-10, 180. Gibson played at Gainesville High but my understanding is his family has moved. Gibson committed to UF after FNL. He has been a long time fan and attended many games. I have not seen him play but was told he was very good even before the ranking.

Dude is a lifelong Gator fan and wanted to be the first to commit. He’s gonna be a good one!

LOL, Knox won't get much credit for him because of that.

For 2022 RB, I am suspecting UF will only sign 1 unless Ettine does decide for UF. I don't see Pettway in this class.

Does it seem to anyone else that we haven’t been that lucky in having top kids be “lifelong Gator fans”? Tebow, obviously, though that was with Meyer and it was still apparently pretty close. If true, that is great news and makes me feel good about him sticking when Bama et al come knocking.

Tebow was a lifetime ago for these recruits. They were five years old.

At some point, when a coach has been at the position for 4 years, and has 2 5* on campus, a likely 5* committed, the player with most yards in Florida when committing, the player with most yards in Georgia when he committed, and one player who was in the top 50 in rankings before injured in high school, and another committed who was in the top 50 before injury in high school, you have to just wonder why you would even listen to someone say how poor of a recruiter that coach is. Does Christian Robinson's position have that many 5*?

I don't mean that this kid is like that, just some in the past seem to have been that way. I remember a guy that shall remain unnamed that went to Auburn becasue of special circumstances and he later regretted it.

I want this kid to stick, and I think he does...

    Go Gators!

I was solely making a joke with the play on my user name. I had no comment on the content of your post. I am too juvenile to post seriously.

knox has done such a great job with the special teams (excuse me i cant stop laughing) that Mullen has extended his duties of it.

If he were incompetent at special teams, which I doubt, seriously what is there to do on special teams any more than avoiding making a crucial mistake and having to get competent kickers and snappers? With the rules as they are, nobody in the SEC is really breaking out on kick returns to score points. Nobody can pin returners back since they can fair catch. We can put great players on return teams, but there is no real hope that anybody can do what Meyer did while he was with us.

There are 2 sides to this story though. He's also the coach who has had 3 recruiting cycles and signed one high school running back - and brian johnson was the primary recruiter. On the flip side he has done wonders with the portal (assuming the staff has similar rankings as the composite) and appears to have found some guys in high school recently to commit. The answer is in the middle.

I thought we were high on Felix and Alston what happened

  19. I'd classify Knox as "competent" as special teams coach. It's not Urban but it's a million times better than Nord where Callaway was catching punts on the 1 yard line and in 2017 we literally put random guys at punt returner and they didn't even bother trying to catch punts.

I have one question for him... Does he teach to hit the hole type running, or run to daylight? Both are correct depending on down and distance...

But on first downs... RUN TO DAYLIGHT!!! Do not allow yourself to run head first in the a massive scrum.
