This is one of my few gripes with the staff. If they knew what we had on roster, especially after losing Hopper then getting a transfer should have been a priority. I know we went after one that ended up at Bama, of course, but we need bodies there. Don't know if it was a numbers issue with scholarships but we lost players and gained none other than a promising true freshman in James. We didn't need a stud. Just a capable body. Think Shuler from west Virginia on the line for Mullens first years here.

Crazy we only have 8 SR's with 4 of them being walk ons that I've never heard of.

    Dean
    Burney
    Miller
    J. Pounce

Are the only non walk on seniors listed on the roster. And 3 of those are on defense. We are YOUNG!!!

would be my starting defense if i'm being honest. This would be the D for me going forward as the starters and going into next year, you're replacing 9 with 7, replacing 51 with 17, and replacing 1 with 12.

Ideally I'd want 9 at SSDE, 21 and 7 at DT, and 1 at the Buck

There’s a payroll now and we seem to be “ spending frugally.”

Seems that was the hope, but there's more depth at DE than DT and wouldn't be able to keep the DTs fresh without 9.
I was a little concerned to see him slimming down this off-season, and it now seems he could be more effective if bigger and stronger, but maybe they were hoping he'd play more SDE.

Still, the guy is getting double, or triple, teamed every play, so others should make plays, especially LBs filling gaps, but we know the deficiencies there.

With all our deficiencies on defense , It’s much easier to key on the talented players we have

Wonder if there will be a mass exodus via the transfer portal when the season is over.

100% and it wouldn’t surprise me if CBN has this in mind with regard to some guys not seeing any PT (Burke, Fraziers, Reese, Lingard, Collier among several others come to mind). I expect us to take as many croots and portal guys as possible too, as CBN quickly tries to overhaul the roster.

I've been shocked by the play of 33 and 52. I thought these guys would have been ready to play. Very sad with the abilities they had/have.

Do you have any reason to believe Collier isn't developing? Harris and McMillon and Young look really solid prospects to play at safety and nickle positions. They could be really formidable to get playing time ahead of.

Collier physically looks like another year away. Remember how although Ahmad Black wasnt the ideal size for safety, he was still “stocky” somewhat. Collier looks skinny

I remember thinking that he looked like a little boy when he committed. It's crazy to see the physical difference between him and Kamari Wilson considering both were ranked roughly the same in their respective classes.

True on Black. But Hill is going to start this week? Has he gained 20 lbs while I wasn't watching? He has looked a biscuit over 150.
