Of the oncoming class who are most likely to be drafted high. Mixed bag as always.

A lot of players and families are on “pins and needles” here the next few days. Best of luck to all and may your upcoming professional careers create great memories for each one of you.

I'm a Twins fan. I'd love to have Wyatt drop to #5, but have largely given up all hope. I'll congratulate our boy for going #1, stay silent on #3 (good for him, bad for me as a Twins fan)... but please don't let him go #2 or #4. He deserves better than those organizations.

Ol’school views peaking in one more time—

“Slot money” (business leverages used by MLB) vs

“True worth” (every player’s desire to know where he rates vs the rest of the field)…..

With all the Keystone Kops moments we have had regarding the NIL, I thought he may have been talking about UF not coughing up enough scratch too.

The final MBL Top 100 draft projections that Sporting News put out earlier today has RHP Steve Echavarria as the only Gator signee listed, at #81. Unless I overlooked somebody. Back in April, Future Star Series listed their Top 400 prospects and they have Liam Peterson at #78, Luke McNeillie at #168, Echavarria at #186, Christian Rodriguez at #292. Those appear to be the only incoming players we're in danger of losing to the draft next week.

One never knows how a prospect will continue to develop and grow, but I’m curious to see how he handles the mental side of the game at the collegiate level or pros for that matter. Liam can get rattled pretty quickly.

Statistics will always be a big part of baseball.

One set that has not varied since I started paying attention—

5% of HS players that sign “succeed” (have a 10+yr career) at the MLB level.
    67% of D-1 college level players “succeed”……..

Joe Nuxhall pitched for the Reds when he was still in high school and only 15 years old.

I think that he had a decent career with two All Star selections. At least 10 years in MLB.

"This is the old lefthander rounding third and heading for home" was his catch phrase at the end of Reds radio broadcasts.

Used to go to sleep many nights listening to Joe and Marty. Old left hander rounding third and heading for home was and still is my favorite saying.

He joined the elderly and lame ballplayers who kept MLB going during WW II.
