Yep, but pretty much right at the edge next to a pretty main road that goes up to the Mountains. I guess the parking could double as commuter lots.
I've never been out there during Football season so I can't say, but the slopes at Alta are magnificent (and ski-only to boot!)
They probably didn’t intertwine their campus in a city. Uwf here in pcola is a smaller college but they have plenty of property as I’m sure many schools do.
The first time I skied Alta, we watched them haul a body down from the backcountry of a skier that died in the previous snow storm and was just found. Lots of guys there with duct-tape holding their ski-suits together. Pretty extreme stuff.
I agree… the lack of actual true parking is a pain in the butt and an issue for many college (traditional football college). However… and I know I’m probably alone here… there is something about trying to find a parking lot behind a frat house and walking down lined streets with 10s of thousands of other fans to the stadium. It’s just part of the experience for me. Part of the ambiance.
I do kinda like walking down the street with a bunch of clowns after we curb stomp them but I’d still park right beside the stadium if I could.
Did that in Denver last February, on the way to the airport. that was a rough funeral. I haven’t had Skrewball since.
