I'm guessing that Usain Bolt makes it first.

I sure hope not. But there was drama with Copeland from the get-go. Not so with Andy Jean and I recall Miami was pressing him pretty hard.

Think I missed your point after rereading your post. Yes, I too hope Jean will be what we thought Copeland would be at UF.

Sorry to keep this about Cope but this scouting report summed him up perfectly:

“Explosive athlete with NFL size and traits but lacking an NFL skill set at the position. Copeland clearly has the athletic profile of an NFL wideout and that will make him worthy of attention. His production has been average, though, and his tape does not always inspire. Copeland is missing the instincts and route acumen to set up his breaks and elude coverage. The physical profile gives him a shot, but he will need to impress in camp to garner a roster opportunity.”

You mean he looks good at a combine but he’s not so good at football?

Exactly! In other words, should be a great receiver, but isn't.

I’d stick to drafting football players , not combine stars.

Cope should change to DB, maybe that would serve him MUCH better?

An outlook adjustment may help him.

idk how true it is but i read Saban wanted Cope as a DB and not a WR so you’re onto something

UF needs to give Mertz somebody that can catch the rock and run. I'm hoping that Jean is one of those guys.

There is a good amount of highlights of mertz at Wisconsin hitting receivers in stride for bigger gains. what does that mean to us? Who knows?

If he wants a career in the league I'd strongly suggest it to him. Look how it worked for one of our former WRs who's name won't come to me. lol

But he'd definitely body a WR, I could see him making a solid DB.

Piersall should give Mertz one guy that threatens defenses and Jean seems poised to be a second. Could really use the speed of Mizell or elusiveness of Wilson if they can add needed strength and size and prove to be precocious learners to add some big plays this fall. Another mostly forgotten possibility is a healthy and more powerfully built Boardingham. The older guys look to be more possession guys who can hopefully provide a couple more reliable targets.
