I would take Harvey (i believe that its his name) over Collier
One could argue the safety play called for snagging some safeties either way
Sadly....he's a take
That part. Shawn Davis looked terrible once teams got film on him...and QB's were actually accurate. I wonder if the hick up last season in the secondary play was just the uncertainty of what coverage to play because we had A LOT of miscommunication between the cb's and safties. Hopefully Gray and English has that figured out
Good news on McMillon. We really needed some recruiting mojo back.
I’m glad the pickup was to your satisfaction.
This was a good pick up imo
There are a lot of advantages to loading up on safeties, in that they give you significant flexibility depending on how they grow and evolve. If they have the frame and they bulk up, as McMillon looks like he might, they can grow into fast linebackers. If they have unique athleticism and flexibility, they can play corner. If they have a size and speed combination, they can move to the other side of the ball and play receiver.
The game's evolving such that the days of a centerfield-playing free safety paired with a run-stopping strong safety are fading away. When offenses are all spreading the field and putting four or five pass catchers out there at the same time, you just want to get as much speed and athleticism on the field as possible, regardless of which position they play.
Agree. One area uf has struggled of late is with LB in coverage.....guys like this give you options
Take this nonsense somewhere else.
Unrelated....My personal crystal ball now has Marshall picking UF as the last corner commit this class. Confidence rising for some reason.
So, it sounds like we can be happy about this. Ron English recruit. Love this kid already. Awesome.
I like this pick up a lot. I read this article recently about him and i think some of you may like him more after reading. I wrestled in high school so any football player that is really good at wrestling gains a lot of respect from me.
Penn State target Donovan McMillon says turning point on road to becoming top prospect came on wrestling mat, not gridiron
Man I wish we could get 4 years of Matt Elam/keke again. I don’t watch the NFL but I consider myself a falcons fan pretty much just because of keke and Quinn. Plus they added fowler this off season
I hate that he (Neal) can't stay healthy because he had All Pro written all over him. With these injuries, i often wonder should he bulk up a little more and transition to WLB.
He probably will tbh. He has the right coach for it too (for now). Didn’t Thomas davis do the same and then have a very long and successful career?
I like McMillon's size, thinking Major Wright or Matt Elam. Any chance this kid outgrows Safety and grows into OLB?
When all is said and done he may play LB as an upperclassman
