Jud going in 2nd round more than likely.

 

Three UF commits gone in 1st round. Very sorry for Jud passed over but not surprised after the up-and-down year he had at the plate. I was skeptical of mock drafts that still had him going in 1st round.

OF Jud Fabian not getting drafted tonight. Sources tell me he wants a lot of money and is very content going back to Florida for another season. We will see if that viewpoint holds. #MLBDraft

 

He still has another year of leverage AND he is still “young” as he entered college a year early. So mathematically it makes sense to negotiate strongly. Plus you would have to think he has the ability to play better than 2021 as well. But it is still surprising he possibly could come back.

 

I would love to see Jud back at UF for another year to play with his brother and work on his approach at the plate.

I would be surprised if Jud would aign for second round slot money.

 

If he signs, it will be for over slot bonus. That is why some teams like the Royals, Orioles and Pirates drafted the players they did. They Will more than likely sign for below slot money which frees up more dollars for others.

 

Interesting that the 2 Clemson football QB signees (Will Taylor & Bubba Chandler) were not selected in the first 39 picks. I believe both were rated in the top 30. I guess they want to play football, first.

Dang, Ryan Bliss went from late rounder to second SEC position player taken,,,almost first. Guess hes not coming back .lol

 

Just a friendly reminder that it's best to always assume that single digit round picks are gone. Putting out information that you're ok coming back to school is negotiating leverage.

 

Yeah I knew Bliss was gone before season started. Just funny how underrated he was. Unbiasedly, his offensive stats were on par or better than anyone in SEC. Biasedly , it wasn't close as best overall hitter/player this year

Now I get to see how high Tyler Miller will go, who wasnt on draft radar, and still doesnt have a true position.
