    – Florida’s offense is going to be very, very good.

    – Emory Jones was a big-time quarterback recruit for the program. He’s got the experience now in the program, 86 passes under his belt, and he’s got the running ability to add a new element to the offense. It’s his offense to run with 6-4, 232-pound Anthony Richardson more of the bomber type as the backup.

    - The receiving corps will be okay with a little time.

6-5, 227-pound junior Justin Shorter has all the clubs in the bag, but he hasn’t been able to break out yet. Speedy junior Jacob Copeland is the team’s leading returning receiver, and 6-3 sophomore Xzavier Henderson adds another big experienced target. There’s no replacing a talent like Pitts, but Kemore Gamble is a good-sized option who can hit and Keon Zipperer is a solid-looking receiver.

    – Emory Jones will be among the team’s most dangerous runners – he was fourth on the team last year – and it’ll be an interesting rotation among the running backs.

Dameon Pierce is a bruising back who the team with 503 yards and four scores, and Malik Davis was second with 310 yards and caught 32 passes, and second-year freshman Nay’Quan Wright could be a bit of a wild card with his receiving skills coming off a 54-grab season.

Making things even more interesting is the addition of Demarkcus Bowman from Clemson – he was a whale of a recruit for the Tigers – and the expected boost in carries for former Miami transfer Lorenzo Lingard.

Three starters are back on the line that was good enough to make the O go, but new Seattle Seahawk Stone Forsythe is gone at left tackle. There’s enough overall talent and versatility to play around with the options. Richard Gouraige will likely kick out from guard to take over Forsythe’s tackle job, and right guard Stewart Reese will move over to center.

I don’t know if we can get all five backs in on the offense. We are loaded at RB.

It's a nice problem to have.
Wish the O line and the D line were like that.

I’m thinking Davis and maybe Wright play the slot this year. They can catch and run in space without having to run behind our o line.

Anything that gets those two a bit of space. Mullen has a lot to work with.

It will be hard to keep the ball out of Wright's hands this year, IMO. He was the best overall back we had last year. The stud transfers have potential but will have to show they can outplay him. If I recall, had he not been injured his senior year in HS, most thought Wright would've been a 5 star RB.

Did we have some games last season where we ran 50 or fewer plays? I have that memory. Is the key to spreading the ball going to be tempo so that we run enough plays to use our skill players? I guess up tempo can put a lot of stress on a DT QB though.

Don't know about 50, but lot games with far too fewer plays than usual. Main problem was the D couldn't get off the field. Nice sack on 1st or 2nd down only to give up a big 3rd down conversion. Saying the corners are back and LBs to be a menace is overly optimistic. Relying on DL transfers is suspect as they were transfers for a reason. Maybe they are better than what we have, but apparently they weren't better than where they left.

I believe the transfer DL had good reason, graduate or wherever. Shame we needed and Mullen is luckiest coach in NCAA that the transfer portal system came about because without it we could not compete.

If our secondary and LB play somehow turn around it will be a much needed restoration. Let’s hope. No excuses on D. Our offense needs the support

"Stop turning the ball over. Kyle Trask had a pick six issue – to go along with the bazillion yards and big plays he generated"
I know this is a season preview, but that line pisses me off. Kyle threw 5 picks in the regular season. That is the definition of NOT having a pick 6 issues.

How does Alabama do it? Seems like they have a 1A and distant 1B and that's their rotation barring blowouts but they recruit a couple a cycle.

Alabama recruits itself. They are a juggernaut and will be until Saban retires.

It sucks, but thats the way it is.
