that is with no points for black, hammond, and reese. seems that montgomery took smith's seat on the gator jet. hope enjoying the process is worth it for him.

How fast is Montgomery? I've seen "straightline speed" listed as one of his strengths, but the 40-yard dash number in his 247 profile is 4.81. And yes, yes, I know, the 40 is overrated, but when you're talking a sub-6'0 slot receiver/RB type, speed matters a great deal. On the other hand, that 40 was recorded in February of 2019, and it's not like kids have had a lot of chance to camp and take more measurements this spring.

That 40 had to be with a 20 mile an hour wind in his face running uphill lol.
No way it’s anything worse than 4.6. Watch him him a crease with ball in hand. That’s all I need to see. I say 4.50-4.55.

He looks plenty fast on the football field in his Hudl profile.

A news stories about Charles Montgomery from 2 years ago, and his 2020 track profile that will help better understanding him as a athlete and person. Something I don't believe anyone has mentioned about his Soph year at Bloomingdale is that the 1st 3 playoff games of the 2018 season he was forced into playing QB, due to a injury to the starting QB. Bloomingdale won all three of those game as well. Cumulatively during that playoff run during the 2018 season he rushed for 574 yards and scored 8 TD's, passed for 220 yards and 3 TD's. Throw in his stats from last year at Armwood playing both the RB, WR and KR position's and combining for over 1200 yards and 15 TD's......The Gators are getting dynamic play maker capable doing lots of different things with the football!

Great get where there was a great need in this class. Now for a "power" back to compliment him - or do we have one already?

When we had Tebow, he was the power back and we had pure speed at rb. Emory May need the power behind him but AR maybe not so much.

So, is he projected at slot or rb? I thought slot but keep seeing reference to rb.

As a Soph at Bloomingdale HS he played RB during the regular season, then due a injury at the QB position during the playoffs he shifted to the QB position for 3 games with Bloomingdale winning all three of those games. When the QB returned for the 4th playoff game he went back to the RB position.

Last year as a junior he transferred to Armwood HS. Armwood HS was blessed with an abundance of D-1 talent on the offensive side of the ball, so he was shifted to the slot where he played primarily last year.

I'm thinking the Gator coaching staff has visions of playing him at the slot as well.

    Hope that helps?

He could line up all over the place even if he is primarily a slot. That’s Mullen, keep em guessing and take the option presented.

It has the look of Brashard asking if there was a spot for him. Mullen asks Montgomery if he is all in. Montgomery says he is shutting all recruiting down. Mullen tells Brashard to kick rocks.

I think Smith has some pretty good speed, but Montgomery and Leary have a bit more explosive takeoff than Smith. I do like the versatility of Montgomery and Smith. All 3 are clearly football players and not Arian Smith like track phenoms first.
