Jacquizz Rodgers, Maurice Jones Drew, Darren Sproles, Wes Welker...those are all small guys and they have excelled.

Can he play football and does he have the capacity to stay healthy? If yes, and the coaches like him, I'm all for it.

    Welcome young man!

Variety is the spice of life and a smurf mixed in can give certain db’s fits just as a 6’4” wr does to a 5’10” db.

Or Marshall Faulk. He was 155 his freshman year and it didn’t hold him back one bit.

I agree with something I've noticed with alot of the HS talent this past season, most don't appear to be getting the appropriate coaching with regards to route running and instead just get by on raw talent alone.

If he turns out to be as good as any of those mentioned then I won't call him a smurf. :D

Most hs coaches aren’t exactly professionals. There are a handful of programs out there and also some parents that can afford to get professional help for their kids from a young age. However, most get their first taste of real coaching when they step on campus

Some guys are just tough. Short guys in open field are nearly impossible to stay with. Tiny little quick steps, hate chasing those tiny bastards. Then actually getting a clean hit ?

Coaches seem to like his versatility and talk to him about mirroring the Perine image in the run game with receptions out of the backfield.

13 TD's on 35 touches is pretty good , huh? Scoring a TD one out of every three times he touches the ball. Can he shoot threes also? What he is now and what he will be as a red shirt freshman at Florida are different things.

He has offers from Bama among others and is listed as a 4 star on another site. I think with a big senior season he will move up for sure. Love it. Way to make inroads also.

From your post, it occurs to me that you are the one that’s not all that special.

After watching his junior highlights, I am a fan! And imo I don’t care if he plays rb at all... like him in the slot, seems to have great hands and ability to go get the ball! Route running is very good, makes a cut and is wide open. And please don’t overreact to this but has a Antonio Brown look to him....

247 had him as the 2nd best performer at the Under Armour Orlando event this past weekend. That event was LOADED with prospects.

    Edit: technically, the 3rd best...

I think he will end up being a top 100 guy. He is the real deal. His separation, hands, strength, and ability to run after the catch make him elite. Very excited to see him in the Swamp.

UF’s did as well prior to Billy G’s arrival. It was no accident that Jefferson and Grimes transferred in. His coaching helped Swain and Hammond as well. His receivers get separation on their breaks, compete for 50-50 balls, run good routes and block for each other.

Too many people here harp on BillyG while simultaneously forgetting how bad our WR coaching was under Muschamp and Mac. Demarcus Robinson came out in an interview and said something along the lines of "I never learned how to run routes, they just told me to line up on the sideline and go."

Kerry Dixon was terrible and unqualified. Don't know what Mac was thinking there.

    His coaching experience:

    • 2015: Florida (Wide Receivers)
    • 2014: FIU (Running Backs)
    • 2012-13: FAU (Running Backs)
    • 2010-11: Montana State (Running Backs)
    • 2009: Stillman College (Offensive Coordinator)
    • 2008: Texas Southern (Quarterbacks)
    • 2007: Morgan State (Quarterbacks)
    • 2005-06: Booker T. Washington (Texas)
