To get Britt and Hendo would be awesome. Some think we may get one but not both.

Hendo to Clemson is a popular thought unfortunately right now.

scratch Ja'Khi Douglas off the board, he's FSU bound. Greg Knox was his primary recruiter and couldn't reel him in

We could sign 5. RS 1-2 of them. Good year for WR. Maybe 1 grows into TE 3 years down the road.

Any kids committed to FSU or Miami will start looking at other teams during this upcoming season.

Knox is proving to be one of the least effective recruiters on the squad. Not a closer and kids don’t feel close to him during the recruiting process. Not a relationship builder that kids can relate to during the recruiting process

Don't know about that. Our coaches have been on him for quite some time. I'd prefer someone taller but he's quite a playmaker.

Right. Douglas mentioned that he'd been in contact with Knox almost daily and we've been on him for a while and then THIS happens. It's only July and paper hasn't hit ink but yea, he's not proving to be effective. Wasn't he the primary recruiter for Trey Saunders AND Bowman???? No he was the primary for Sanders and Larry Scott is shown (per 247) as Bowman's primary recruiter but Knox was/is the secondary recruiter since he's Bowman's position coach. Taking a look at all of our 17 pledges, he's not the primary nor the secondary recruiter on ANY of them. The two pledges he was attached to, Keyvone Lee and Joel Williams, surprise surprise aren't in this class anymore

He's got to pick it up.

I like him a lot too, but he has been slow played for quite some time. Plenty of options on the board at his spot at least

Knox is a proven assistant with 20+ years of SEC coaching experience and clearly has the trust of Mullen- with him since ‘09. If recruiting is a deficiency in his skill set, you’d think CDM would recognize that after 10 years together, and strategize accordingly (maybe by intentionally not leveraging him as the lead recruiter very often, instead having him cover two position groups- RBs and Special Teams ).

The cupboard is full at RB, so more importantly, let’s see how the younger guys beneath Perine on the depth chart develop.

I hate to say it, and can hear the groans already, but...

    ...trust your coach

As we always said man, expectations at UF are vastly different than that at MSU. I'm not calling for him to be fired, just pointing out some facts and hope that he picks it up.

Yes, it would be great if all our coaches were great recruiters and coaches - all of them, but they are not both, at least not all of them. That's my Captain Obvious quote of the day, but I don't think anyone else has a staff full of guys that are great at both, either. Capt. Obvious again.

And I would rather have the guy that can coach them up and get them playing as expected than a guy that can just blow smoke up their ass and convince them to come to UF.

At the same time, to be an elite program, you need coaches who can do both.
