New 2020 #Gators commit @GVOaant completed over 50 percent of his passes as a sophomore while recording 10 TDs as well.

The hometown product also racked up roughly 500 yards and 13 TDs on the ground.

Don’t know anything about this kid. Can someone tell me why I should be excited about a stat of completing over 50%?? How much over? Anything to add?

His 247 profile gives him a 2017 completion percentage of 51.4% and 10 TDs against eight interceptions. 77 rushes for 470 yards, which is obviously good.

Can we get another QB and have him play receiver?

Five seconds into this video, you’ll see Richardson, as a h.s. freshman, make the catch of the year:

I haven’t read that much, other than about Eastside not being a really great team, but Whittemore’s dad, the coach at Buchholz, was raving about Richardson back when they played.

I realize he's unranked right now as a junior in HS, but I've had some tell me he'd be a 4* right now if he was ranked. Could be a 5* depending on his senior season. Big, strong kid too... 6 - 4, good height.

Also, some other site was listing the top players from FNL, prior to the commitment. They said AR looked great in the agility drills (which is what everyone expected) but that his passing was much improved and he was regularly hitting guys in the numbers.

For a sick 2020 athlete, who only has one year of QB under his belt, that’s what you want to hear.

Just answering why this is a great get:

Because FF has been a QB since Pop Warner, and has not improved much in 12 years...while Richardson is an elite athlete just learning the position and is, apparently, improving by leaps and bounds.*

*I don’t count playing a few downs a game as the wildcat QB as a freshman really learning the position.

Great pickup, big kid and he's only entering his JR season. Nice start to our 2020 class, QBs can lead the way.

More importantly, Mullen has attracted 3 DT QBs in his first 8 months on the job. They fit his system. We will have quality depth in the future with a QB that can run, which keeps defense off balance and allows us to implement Mullen offense fully. Each of these 3 QBs is ranked in top 10 nationally for DT QBs. If we get consistency from the QB position, we will be fine. College ball is all about the QB

Uh, those passing stats are not GOOD. Mediocre at best.

"Good" referred to the rushing stats. I deliberately avoided offering any judgments beyond that.

Keep bringing in quality QBs, for a guy who has a pretty much unbroken 17 year streak of good to great QB play. Very stoked by this. Exactly what this program needs.

Alright everybody here comes the positive train w the positive answer.

Only a sophomore!!! Heard great things about him character wise and finally got A local kid as Anthony definitely would have went big time division one. Cannot continue to let kids in our own front yard or backyard get away from us. Projects easily as a 4 Star.

Those stats for a 15/16 year old kid are fine. Expect the completion pctg to go up to 59-60 this year and high 60's as a Senior.

Just as an addendum for perspective:

Nicky Fitz HS passing stats were 33/76 778 yds 12 TDs......as a senior. He was a WR and back-up QB as a junior.

I imagine Mullen can get something out of Richardson in the long run.

I know. Still doesn't make the stats GOOD. Acceptable maybe.
