While we're still in the dead period, just wanted to get a thread created on a position of interest for us this cycle.

    Current depth chart:

    Perine - SR
    Davis - RS Sophomore
    Pierce - SO
    Clement - RS Freshman
    Wright - True Freshman

    Targets:

Demarkcus Bowman (I know I know...)
    Lawrance Toafili
    Sam Adams II
Marvin Scott III (waiting on an offer)
    EJ Smith
    Michael Drennen II

Despite a lack of depth and lack of high 4/5 star type talent at the RB position, we could miss out on Bowman, Smith, Adams and Toafili. I think Toafili is realistically our best shot here.

There are a lot of scenarios with other schools that will affect our RB board, IMO.
    Adams -> UW
-TA&M looks to be trending for high 4 star RB Daniyel Ngata, he would be their second RB of the class. They out of it for EJ or kick out the 3 star commit (with offers from schools like UF, Bama & Auburn)?
-Stanford looks to be down to EJ & Michael Drennen right now.
-Ohio State are the favorite for 5 star Bijan Robinson (8/2 commitment) & potentially Jaylen Knighton. Knighton seemed like a 1 time FSU lock and they still have a chance to get him on campus before he commits 7/30. I’d expect FSU to be all in for Toafili, if Knighton goes to OSU.
-Drennen got a few Kentucky CB’s over the weekend. I believe he is visiting us for FNL.

Curious to see how this all shakes out but seems like we’ve got a realistic shot at Drennen & Toafili, as of now.

I watched some tape of Marvin Scott III and thought he looked pretty good. Not a Bowman caliber RB, but seems like a decisive runner and tends to find space in traffic. He won’t be turning the corner at the college level but his off tackle running looked pretty good and did not go down at first contact.

Unless they're recruiting him very secretively, then no, he's not in the mix anymore. LSU, FSU, and PSU for him

We are all in on Toafili. You can believe that. We can’t lose him.

FSU has 100% of the 247 public crystal ball projections. So, can we really say he is even ours to lose? Hopeful, of course.

That was from like earlier this year, before the spring I believe that the last cb was put in for him.

We are behind, but yes we are in the mix and he's planning to be at FNL on an unofficial.

Oh, absolutely not. Just the same, we need to close that deal and show the young man his future here is a 100W halogen and there it’s but a lightning bug.

We are really "all in" on a 174lb RB? Great offer list, great moves on film but seems like a specialty back to me.

Probably but we need that in the backfield. Nothing wrong with variety

I hear ya but I’d rather have Dumerville and a 3* back. Top rbs just aren’t a necessity.Nice to have but Perine is more than good enough.

Great vision is helpful. I was there during Emmitt Smith time period. Same line for all the RBs, but Smith just had a great vision for the field. That is rare. Harvin has that vision and the speed to exploit. If we can find a back with the vision to get 5 plus yards per run we are golden
