While on campus, Goods noticed a few things that made Florida the easy choice for his college commitment.

“The way that the players are developed there,” he said on what made him choose Florida during the visit. “The way they transform their bodies and Coach [David] Turner is a great coach and has coached some great people like Fletcher Cox. I want to be in that legacy of defensive linemen.”

Defensive line coach David Turner was a big reason for why Goods committed to Florida as the two have developed a good relationship early on.

“That’s my guy, we have a good relationship,” Goods said of Turner. “We’re on the same page of what I want to accomplish once I get there, it’s a really good relationship.”

    A UK Perspective
Goods is a four-star defensive lineman that is ranked as the No. 30 defensive tackle in the country, according to 247 Sports composite rankings. He currently has offers from Florida, Georgia, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia, among others. The main threat at this point is Florida, as he had a visit down there this weekend and is getting predictions in the 247 Sports crystal ball.

While Kentucky fans should feel good about the recent wave of commitments and have faith when defensive coordinator Brad White is handling a recruitment, like he was for Goods, Dan Mullen getting face time with the Canadian native could not have helped Kentucky’s situation.

Originally from Canada, Goods is currently playing his high school ball for St. Thomas More High School in Oakdale, Connecticut. He had three 247 Sports crystal ball predictions come in over the last week, and all of those have been for the Gators. So the writing has been on the wall for this move.

Does this mean Goods is destined to be a Gator and will not give Kentucky another look? Maybe. But given the current state of football commitments, a big win in Kroger Field in September when the Wildcats host the Florida Gators could turn the tide a bit.

While there is certainly a need for Goods in the defensive line rotation, and he would definitely be in line for playing time, even if he does not end up at Kentucky I am sure that Mark Stoops and company have other targets in mind that could slide ride into his spot.

Did you ever believe there would be a day when a 4-star decommitting from Kentucky Football would not be a devastating loss?
