Is Elam still on campus? Is he gone? Its been awfully quiet on the Elam front.
Elam Visiting Georgia this weekend and two crystal balls just came in for him going to the dark side.
Georgia hires Florida cornerbacks coach Charlton Warren
Well that explains it! Not good news for the good guys.
It should be if the kid has half a brain. Who would want to follow a guy with his stability.
Warren last week, "Come to UF because.."
Warren today, "Come to uga because.."
Why listen to anything that clown has to say?
I think so as well. I wonder what kind of car.
If he ends up going to uga because of a wandering position coach over all of his GATOR ties than he's really just been looking for an excuse NOT to go to UF all along. I really hope he's a Gator, but if he doesn't it wont be because uga hired our DB coach.
Hard to say. georgia has been on him for a while and Elam warm to georgia. As I understand it Warren was his primary recruiter so if true there could be some sway in that.
Warren had no loyalty to a program. Could leave for somewhere else next year, if they pay more
Would like to bring back Vance Bedford who coached for Urban at UF when Dan was there. Did not do well as a DC at Texas, but was a great DB coach for us back in the day
South Carolina in 2020? He is taking all the playbooks to the highest bidder in the SEC east. What a guy.
Hopefully Matt was his primary recruiter
In hiring former UF defensive coaches by Alabama and Georgia just before this recruiting cycle ends, what does that say about Saban and Smart?
I find those maneuvers a strange strategy.
Warren is not a great coach in many peoples eyes and a so so recruiter. UF and CDM have a chance to upgrade both positions especially from a recruiting stand point. Elam may choose UGA but it will not be due to Warren being there. IMO, I suspect it is more of a negative than a positive for the Dawgs.
How about former UF DB and former Atlanta Falcon DC, Marquand Manuel as DB coach?
That would be cool, but going from NFL DC to college CB coach is a big step back.
That is not realistic IMO.
I agree its unlikely as a big step back. I know nothing about coaching contracts either, but one question. If he is fired from an NFL job and has any payout over time as long as he doesn't get rehired in the NFL, could he take on a college coaching position and still get the payout? I'm not even sure if DC or position coaches even get long term agreements but it seems possible. If so could he choose to come back to Florida for a year or two as a Co-DC and still earn money from the Falcons?
