Not the end of the world but continuing to lose battles for Florida recruits to Georgia is a bad look.

I'm nobody's expert on recruiting, but I wonder if there might be any academic casualties from this class that would open up a spot for Elam.

What with the no spot crap? That's not even close to being true. We will have several transfer out all schools do. Be very surprised if he isn't a gator and it is a big deal to lose him to Georgia. He is a Florida boy and he comes from a gator family.

Must not be much of a Gator family if they'd allow one of their own to even remotely consider the mutts. There's no way anyone in my family would go there. And if they did they'd get no money from me. Maybe I'm a hardass though.

That’s probably a high level staff convo so we may never know until it’s public but I’d say there will be a few similar instances.

Not sure what the fretting is about. I'm sure CDM knows far more about the count than anyone with a keyboard. I've not heard him say we are done.

We should probably blame SOS for not recruiting his father harder.

Also it would be nice if the OP edited the title to spell Kaiir's name correctly.

Eh, Diwun Black's thread has been up a few days and no one has corrected his name yet. He's even a commit/ future all American gator linebacker.

My thoughts as well. For a player ranked that high, there's no reason to announce this early. This isn't dragging on. He's either a Gator or a dawg.

It's a large extended family and some of them may have been Georgia fans before his uncle played for UF. If it's about football, why not send him there?

The idea of everybody in a family going to one school or avoiding another because of sports team loyalty is stupid. My daughter took a look, talked to her counselor and said "no thanks." She still loves the Gators but got an excellent education and a better job than she could have possibly gotten as a UF grad.

It's not like they need money from you to go to UF.

Elam is still important even with Steele in the fold. We are losing two stud DBs next year, and having experienced replacements will be critical. Additionally, the thing nobody wants to talk about is the retention rate for west coast guys isn't great. There is a non-trivial chance Steele is a repeat of Josh Shaw and gets homesick enough to transfer after a year...particularly if he gets injured and can't get on the field.

I agree with you completely on the first part. However, I think Steele goes three years. He has a great relationship with CDM, committed to USC for mom but at the end of the day, the urge to do what was best for him and go play for UF was too strong. I think he will be huge. Or I’m wrong. Hahaha

Elam is important but a second DT is more important than a forth CB. Hopefully we get both but there's not much room left.
